Unable to send yahoo emails

HI................

I am unable to send email to yahoo or the emails to yahoo are being delayed?

This is a new feature of yahoo mail. It is using what is called Grey Listing to fight spam. For more details, you can read:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greylisting

What happens is that whenever a new message is sent to yahoo, it replies with "try again later" message. e.g. here is a test smtp connection to one of the yahoo's mx:

# telnet 66.196.97.250 25
Trying 66.196.97.250...
Connected to 66.196.97.250.
Escape character is '^]'.
421 Message from (a.b.c.d) temporarily deferred - 4.16.50. Please refer to http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/defer/defer-06.html
Connection closed by foreign host.

Now as you can see, yahoo did not even give us (the ip of a.b.c.d) a chance to start the smtp session. What it will do is wait for us to try again later. Our mail servers (or yours on your vps/dedicated server) will try again later and if yahoo likes the delay long enough, it will let the server communicate further and deliver the email.

To avoid such delays and problems with yahoo mail, you are encouraged NOT TO FORWARD emails to yahoo or any other ISP. Please refer to this KB as well why we are saying that:

http://www.jaguarpc.com/support/kbase/707.html

Instead, use proper email accounts and use any of your favourite methods to read emails, i.e. webmail, pop3, imap.

Yahoo has been having many problems lately while they are upgrading the classic mail. Many can't access their mail at all. For now you can use this link to send and receive, it's basic, but it works. http://us.m.yahoo.com/p/mail Works for me.

GOOD LUCK...........

I am not able to open yahoo mail. "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" is coming as error. I can open all other websites. even yahoo.com i can open

It is most likely a problem with Yahoo. Sometimes, where there are too many people trying to access the same page, at the same time, a server doesnt have enough space for everyone to do so. If the problem persists, i would try using a different internet browser. Firefox or Google Chrome are both good options. Goodluck!

Since upgrading yahoo 7 mail I have not been able to send emails as the box won't open and even when I try to read new mail or get my contact list up it doesn't seem to happen

New version of Yahoo has many issues at this time. They hope to have it fixed soon. In the meantime, try switching from one Yahoo version to another. Or shift to the Yahoo Mail Classic version (the old interface) which loads faster and works on all web browsers.
You also want to check yahoo mail using a different web browser program (Mozilla, Chrome). Or check your internet connection speed and firewall access limitations.

Cannot open my yahoo.mail

Hi,

This may sound absurd but you're logged into yahoo mail but was staring at the in-box for hours because you can't access your in-box or you simply can't open those emails even though you're almost there looking at email previews.

No matter how you try to open the in-box folder, you simply can't access it or you're too close to reading the email by clicking on the preview link but it just wouldn't open and all you see is a blank screen.

Generally, we access our email via yahoo's web interface or sometimes we do it from yahoo messenger window when new email alters come. Whichever way we do it, we cannot always assume that since yahoo is a large company, we definitely won't get server errors. In fact, if you happen to have used an extension from firefox that could determine web servers, I've noticed that local yahoo mails are sometimes hosted somewhere else, like for example, Singapore for some parts of Asia.

Have you ever tried accessing your yahoo mail via IM and were able to run into any of the problems stated above? Then you don't really have to uninstall or remove the messenger or clear your proxy settings in case you're using one. There glitches sometimes occur but that doesn't mean your account has been compromised. It's also cumbersome to delete your account then create a new one just to get away from this hassle.

You may try logging out then clear your cache or refresh/restart browser then logging in again. In my experience, I even switched browsers but if the problem persists, don't log out but open this link.

http://wap.oa.yahoo.com/

As you can see, it's a yahoo mobile interface but it surely works like magic although there's no way you can log out from it, simply close the browser window whenever you're done reading your emails while you still can't access your mails using the normal site.

Also, pictures are not viewable using the link, only pure texts from the email will appear.

Thanking you

Try G-Mail. I had issues with y-mail many times. I switched to g-mail and have had no issues. They even let you see the IP's of anyone accessing your G-Mail account and you can fix it right there. Try G-Mail. I don't think you will be disappointed.
