ONLY 1 of 2 things can cause this problem----

First thing to do is remove front speaker grill--it should pull out and is secured with plastic pegs--behind it you will find an inspection plate---

Notice the one or two pairs of wires coming from the front keyboard of the set---remove the inspection plate and follow the wires to the right--you can unplug both plugs(most have two and they are marked with letters and different sizes so you cannot get them wrong)

The idea here is to remove the front keyboard with its reset button etc from the circuit---You will still be able to try to turn the set on with the remote---

These sets have a Receiver that is called a DM board--(large metal box to the left as you look from the back) and if the power goes out the green light will blink for about 70 seconds and then go out---it is the Receiver booting up. It is called the DM board.

If disconnecting the keyboard allows the set to turn on--you have a bad reset switch and two choices---either operate the set only with the remote or to remove the front screen and get at the reset switch (it is tiny) and remove and/or replace it.

If disconnecting the keyboard does not restore the set to operation---the receiver is bad---there are 4 or more caps and some pico fuses that can fail in that unit---Mitsubishi no longer sells or repairs these--if it is bad and not the caps there is a company you can send the unit to and have it repaired--if you need to know their name let me know---

You can call them and get a quote for repairing the receiver.

Let me know what more information you need--I am here to help.

If this told you something you did not know rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

I have the same problem as above. The two plugs are just under the speaker grill. The smaller of the two stops the timer light when disconnected. The remote does not work. What are my alternatives? Thank you.

Usually the blinking indicates a power section problem. That could have been from a power surge. Thats a shop job to fix. Since its out of warrenty you need to get an estimate first. Repair costs can be more than a new tv. Last one I saw was $450ish. If you have any local tv repair shops talk to them , then talk to sharp and get contact info for the repair depot and talk to them. Get estimates from all, then compare that to a new tv cost and you will know which way is best for you to go.

Unless you spent almost as much on the surge supressor as the tv they are only actually meant to protect the wiring in the house. The do not react fast enough to actually stop a power surge. They just cut off a short circuit problem so the house wiring doesn't overheat and burn the house down.

We had power outage when power came back on power light goes on then starts blinking will not do anything have tape in player it wont play it or eject it

When you have power outtages you always want to have these eletronics in a surge supressor or simply unplugged.

I suspect your having a power supply issue, The power supply is inside the TV, I would not say its a fuse because you do have that blinking light.

1. try to unplug it and plug it back in

if that did nto work your going to need a tv repair shop. You do not want to open this unit if you do nto know how to repair it.

Thanks for your free question, Thanks for using fixya.com please be kind and leave a postive rating or feedback.

KDF70XBR950 red power light belinks 6 times repeatedly

Hi.

You have a power board error, and TV is in protect mode. This had been caused by the power surges.

Try leaving the TV disconnected from power (unplug cord) for several hours, or overnight.
This will allow PSU capacitors full discharge and can fix PSU fault after power surge. If it does not correct the problem , then there is a faulty component.
In that case the TV must be tested and repaired by a technician.

Regards.

Possible power surge earlier today. TV will not

If your TV was plugged into a power strip with a surge arrestor, the power strip may need a reset (if there is a reset button) or replacement (those surge arrestors are only good for so many "hits". Try plugging the TV in elsewhere.
If it was not plugged into a surge suppressor, it is time to call a repairman.

Blinking "Timer" light for WD-62725

If this is a DLP, you may have problems on the FMT/DM boards in the sealed electrical chassis.

That's a big problem, because Mits doesn't make the DM/FMT boards available anymore. They are only available for rebuild from Mitsubishi and other qualified places.

There is a chance that there are some vented capacitors on the DM and FMT boards you might be able to replace, but it's for someone really comfortable with completely disassembling a set, soldering in 8 new caps and rebuilding the chassis.

Rebuilds will run you $400-$500 in rebuild costs and an additional $200-$400 in labor, depending on the joint.

Cannot turn on tv

it sounds like the power surge got past the surge protector and damaged one of the boards in the back of the tv. it may or may not be worth fixing depending on what you want to spend on it

BATTERY BACKUP VS. SURGE SUPRESSOR FOR A KDF-60WF655

Rear projection TV's use a high power light bulb that is cooled by a fan. When you turn the TV off, the fan still runs for a little bit to cool the bulb off. A power outage is nothing short of jerking the plug out of the wall. This is murder on the bulbs because of all of the heat built up in them that the fan cannot remove. I would recomment a UPS (uninterupptable power supply) or as you refered to it "battery backup" to protect your investment. If there is a power outage, this will not really provide enough power to watch tv, but you can safely turn off the tv and it can cool down normally. Also, a UPS can filter and clean up "dirty" power, compensating for over and under voltages that could otherwise cause stress to your electronics. Check the power consumption of your tv, as UPS's are rated by their output capacity. Expect to pay $100 to $200 for a decent unit
