Question about Samsung HP-R5052 50 in. Plasma HDTV

1 Answer

Model HP R 5052. This TV was bought in January of 2006, ran well for 2 years and then problems w/ blown plasma pixels creating more than 50% snow in the lower and middle of the screen. A new plasma screen was installed. Next problem a green vertical line in the third right side of the screen. Again, a new plasma screen installed and then the TV started to turn off and on continuously after a month the TV now stays on, but when turned off by the remote or the on/offf switch the tv turns on. The only way to keep it off is pulling the power cable from the outlet. Any advices?

The power source is defective - it autooscillates way beyond the specified limits so it starts itself. This happens because the filtering capacitors have aged and their remaining capacity is no longer sufficient to dampen it. You need to have it checked and replaced if it can't be fixed.

The power supply for the pixel voltages has failed.
You can have a Samsung dealer replace it for you.

50" LG Plasma TV has no picture just scattered pixels across the screen

HI,
This sounds like an issue that would be covered under the manufacturer warranty. please get a hold of the manufacturer for service. Thsi particular model has a 2 year, parts and labor, limited warranty. This might save you some money. Here is the website for LG service:
http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp
When you call, you should have your serial number and model number ready.
Hope this was helpful
Have a great day!

Lg plasma

call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.

Samsung HD tv help

Is it a Plasma Television? I recently had a customer have the same issue with a 2 year old model Samsung 50" plasma TV. In his case one Of the computer panels failed. He didn't have a service plan and the warrenty was out, so i directed him to Samsungs help line. They inturn directed him to a authorized repair center. Repairs were roughly $800. Thats a possibility but it may not be the same as your issue. Try leaving your TV running for a little while when it has the issue, and see if it eventually goes away. Some older plasma models have started to require a warm up time for the pixel cells. This has been a down fall of plasma that for the most part no longer exists on newer models.
I hope eveything works out.

Have a great day
