Please check to see if the T-CON ribbon cable is properly attached.
Did the transistors (C5706/5707) short out? Cold soldeer joints.

Did it look normal before the monitor went out?

yes I replaced the 4 5707 transistors, 2 other transistors and a soldered on fuse I believe. It came as a kit. The monitior was fine before. Not sure if it was something I did when I took it apart or if the board was worse off then I thought. I have the top have working fine, its just the bottom half thats acting up now. please help.

Try reseating the T-CON connector located on the back of the LCD panel (there is a ribbon cable between the logic board and the LCD panel).

ok so I did what you said and still the same. I get a picture on the top half and the bottom half is full of lines and colors. I smell a scent coming from the power supply board. Can this be the panel itself or is it just a bad board. please help. I was smelling this before I changed the components out and still smell it. The monitor worked fine before it went out

Yes, it can be a LCD panel problem, it can be co-incident the the problem happens after you repaired the backlight inverter circuits section which has nothing to do with the lines you see on the screen. Send me pictures of the board and the screen if you want so I can actually see what ith looks like, budmrtn@aol.com

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Hello:

There is a problem within the digital board assembly. This is the metal can like unit to the left side of the unit when looking inside it with the back off. The power management is inside this unit. There are 7 1000uf 16 volt capacitors on this small power supply that needs to be replaced. The pwr board is the first you see after opening the Digital unit. Replaced the capacitors with 680uf 16v capacitors instead of 1000uf. After replacing the capacitors looking thru the holes in the digital assembly there will be a green flashing LED, Watch this light for a moment, should stop flashing and stay steadily green if all is normal. Also the power light will still flash for at least 60seconds then go off. Turn on power and happy viewing...Cost to repair this should range around $200-250.00 dollars.
