Limited or no connectivity means that you are not getting an Ip address from the router

-try changing the cables
-try changing the port where you are connected
-check the LAN port lights if it's blinking

-are all the computers getting the same error? if yes, it is the routers DHCP server that is bad, if no, focus on that PC that is not getting an IP
-check if DHCP client is started
-do IP config
(if it is 169.254.x.x) it means that it has the auto configuration IP from windows
set static IP within ragnge or your router in the PC

Hp pavillion laptop allows me to log on. Then as it loads up screen flashes and a blue circular disc appears by the curso. It says limited wifi. No problem with the WiFI connecting my phone to it.

Does your phone use the Wifi antenna from your laptop? or the receiver? or the software? When your laptop indicates it has a problem with the Wifi connection, it has. What is causing this should be looked after in the laptop, like did you setup the connection correct? Is the setting still correct? or did something change the settings or even reset the settings?
Just check everything about the wireless connection in the laptop to see if you can get it working again. If it was never working before, just setup the connection.

Limited or no connection

Limited connectivity
If you get a 'Limited connectivity" on you LAN connection on your laptop, it means that the wireless card on your laptop probably did not get an IP address from the router.
To fix this problem, right click on the LAN icon on the Task bar and then click Repair.
This will force the router to issue a IP address to the LAN card on the laptop.

Wireless problem. it's conected, but limited. no internet connections. my operating system is vista

Generally you get this indication when your system has auto-assigned itself a APIPA IP addres (Automatic Private Internet Protocol Address) where the system was unable to get an IP address from the DHCP server.
To resolve, right click the wireless network connection, Click Troubleshoot Problems to Diagnose and Repair the connection

IPV6 connection says limited when it should say local?

You are extremely unlikely to be using ipv6 - A 2008 study by Google indicated that penetration was still less than one percent of Internet-enabled hosts in any country. The leaders were Russia (0.76%), France (0.65%), Ukraine (0.64%), Norway (0.49%), and the United States (0.45%).
So unless you have a private network to connect you to all these other IPV6 users, you are using IPV4 like the rest of us...

Wirless Network keeps failing

Hi,

It is possible that you need to further fine tune your WEP configuration. To verify if it's the security lock, try running the laptop and the router without the WEP security (disabled) and determine if you still get the "Limited connection or no connectivity".

If yes, you have just eliminated that area and could consider other possibilities, otherwise you then have to concentrate on the WEP security.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back on any developments (or lack thereof) or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
