Wifi wont connect

Are you certain you have the small WiFi switch turned to the ON position? You can usually find the small button on the left or right side of the body of your laptop, just below the monitor.

I have a Dell Inspiron 2650 that takes about 5-7 minutes to bootup but once online internet speed is acceptable but can not make HTTPS connections. HTTP connects fine. Any suggestion.

Try to remove any unnecessary programs, replace your antivirus with Microsoft security essentials, run windows update and install all updates, upgrade ram, update internet explorer or any web browser you use. Make sure every software you have is legit and updated. I hope these suggestions work, if not, please comment.

NAV cannot connect to the server

Try to access another antivirus website online scanner and go to windows update if you are unable to access them as well you have Win32.Worm.Downadup.Gen. It prevents any access to any antivirus software and windows updates it also turns off any installed sntiviru updates. Removal is actually really simple just go here

Unable to use phone book contacts between Nokia 5800 and Parrot 3100

You need to check that both the 3100 and the 5800 are using the latest software. There were problems with the older software but they have been resolved.

On the 5800: Settings>Phone>Phone mgmt.>Device updates>Options>Check for updates (Assumes your 5800 has a working internet connection). Othewise use software updates from Nokia PCsuite.

For the 3100: Download the software update tool from www.parrot.com to a bluetooth enabled notebook. Run the update tool and just follow the instructions. If you don't have wireless internet on your notebook, run the update tool first while connected to the net to download the update files before taking the notebook into the car. The 3100 must be in software update mode before you connect the notebook via bluetooth. Settings>Advanced settings>Software Update>Activate.

I found that it took a couple of attempts to get the connection to work, but once it was made the update completed fine. The 3100 then resets itself and you need to pair the 5800 again. Once it's paired, the contacts will synchronise.

I did this about 30 minutes ago, so I know it works.

Good luck

Can not update software

Most likely the firewall on you security software is causing the problem. If you know how to disable it open your security software and turn off the firewall. After updating the software, turn on the firewall again.
If you are not able to do the above steps. We will have to disable it from MSCONFIG.
Click start – Run – Type “msconfig” – Hit enter
Click on the Tab “Startup” on the top, Click “Disable All” button
Click on the Tab “Services” on the top, Put a Check on “Hide All Microsoft Service” , Click “Disable All” button
Click OK.
Restart the computer and try updating the software now. It should work. Once updated, open msconfig again and select “Normal Startup” to reset it back to the default settings again.

Blue Screen Of Death

When you installed windows the first thing you should have done is turned on windows firewall. Than install you're network for internet connection & than antivirus software & updates. Chances are you picked up something when you installed frostwire. Just being connected to the internet with out protection was enough to catch a hitch hiker. Hence the blue screen. Since this is a new drive download and run Darik's boot & nuke software from this link: http://www.dban.org/
After you run the software shut down the system & unplug the power cord from the PC. Pull you're memory out of the system for about a minute. Reseat the memory, check all internal data cables & power connections. Close the case & plug in the power cord. Boot the system & install window's fresh. This time turn on windows firewall & as soon as you get connected to the internet install you're antivirus software. Than update windows before installing any other software other than mother board device drivers. You'll need all security patches & fixes from Microsoft.
You might receive the blue screen again, that's not abnormal in this case. Run Nuke again if you do. I have had to do this myself on some Pc's. Wait until you're system if fully updated before installing any thing else from the internet.
Everything should work out fine.

Good luck barton!

Internet connection lost when windows updates, have to do system restore to get back online. Tried downloading firefox and safari neither browser can 'connect to server'. Also the anti virus software can...

I had he same problem connecting to the internet after downloading the updates for Windows XP. It turn out to be that the surcurity downloads are to harsh for some anti virius programmes, and I was told to uninstall my free version of Zone Alarm and try to connect to the internet again. This I did do and was able to connect to internet again. I have since re-installed the Zone Alarm programme and I am able to use the internet once again with the above working.

I hope this help's you.
