You're really going to need the model number of the dryer to determine if the piece of paper has the part number for the belt that your dryer needs. If you find the model number info - you can go to Sears Parts Direct to check for a replacement (or go to the store).

You may get some help by bringing the belt to a Sears or Kmart store to compare to other belts that they have in stock. The length of the belt isn't super critical as the tension-er pulley can make up for small differences between your old belt and one that is "close".

I hope this helps!

Kenmore Heavy Duty dryer model # 86873100

The drum belt is lopped through a idler wheel that has a power cut off switch that cuts the power when the belt breaks.
So I don't know why the dryer would heat up if the belt is broken?

Is the top of the dryer very hot. Check the dryer vent tube is not clogged.

Will not dry clothes

How old is the dryer? The ceramic ignitor piece may have partially broken off. It gets very brittle over the years. Look for a broken piece laying below where it sits. If you replace it, do not touch the ceramic part of the ignitor or it will not work right. Sometimes it's just as simple as a corroded wire connection. I once worked on a 25 year old Kenmore gas dryer that would not ignite. With the power cord unplugged, I disconnected and reconnected all the wire terminals inside and tried it again it worked perfectly like it was new.

Drum does not rotate!

Good day,
Yes, it sounds like a broken belt.
To replace it, remove the lint filter on top, and remove the 2 screws under it.
With a narrow screw driver, pop one side of the li, then the other.
Now rotate the lid up but do not go above vertical.
There are 2 screws holding the front panel on at the top.
Remove the 2 screws, and then unplug the door switch wires. and the support clip for them.
With the front tilted an inch or 2 lift the front panel up and off.

Here is an excellent tutorial.

The belt can be purchased at any appliance parts house.
IMPORTANT> On some of the newer models the belt tensioner was nothing more than a piece of spring metal.
It will be found on the bottom right side of the dryer floor.
If that's the style, it's a known deficient part, and must be replaced with the old version with has a wheel.
A good counterman will know all about it. Take the old one with you.

Kenmore Automatic Dryer wont tumble. Model series 77410110.

Usually this means the belt is broken, the belt may have just been old and worn out and it was time to replace it,or perhaps the wheels locked up or the idler and caused the belt to break. Look around for stiff wheels, bad bearings, glides and idlers. Its a good idea to oil the rollers with some temp resistant oil such as zoom oil. Dont use WD40 as this stuff is highly flammable and may cause a fire

Go to repairclinic.com and click on the "Repair Help" link at the top of the page. On the next page, there will be a link for "Dryer Belt Diagrams under the "Special Features" section. Scroll down to Kenmore. Since you didn't post a model number, you will have to look at diagrams H, B, or K. If you are confused, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Belt replacement

Take the belt with you to an appliance store and they will match it up. Much like a fan belt on a car. You won't necessarily need the model if you have the belt. Next, it sounds like your assembly is broken. If this assembly looks to be in pieces, you may need a new one.
