Question about Autopage Vehicle Parts & Accessories

1 Answer

I am trying to install an Autopage BPS-4 vehicle back up system on my 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche. This truck has a chrome plated steel bumper. The Autopage BPS-4 kit comes with a holesaw bit to cut the holes for the sensors. Is the holesaw / bit supplied with this sufficient to cut holes in a chrome plated steel bumper?

Before you try and end up ruining the bumper, these holesaws are only made for sheet metal

Tag light is not working. is there a fuse that will get the light turned back on?

The fuse labeled REAR PARK LP 15A in the right instrument panel fuse box powers the rear park lamps, and the tag lamps. If your rear park lamps are working then you most likely need to replace the tag lamps (bulbs). Use the following procedure to replace the lamps.

    To Remove:
    1. Remove the two mounting screws from the license plate lamp.
    2. Remove the license plate lamp from the rear bumper fascia.
    3. Remove the license plate lamp socket by turning it counterclockwise.
    To Install:
    1. Install the license plate lamp socket by turning it clockwise.
    2. Position the license plate lamp to the rear bumper fascia.
    3. Install the license plate lamp mounting screws.

How to remove the front bumper cover on 2002 avalanche & how to remove the rear bumper cover

Remove all eight small set screws (4) on each side in the fender wheel wells. Then remove the four secure bolts on undercarriage of bumper (4). Take a screw driver. (flathead) to the upper portions of both the left and right side of the bumper. Be careful....... These are extremely fragile and you may need to replace them before replacing the bumper. Then comes a bit unnerving part. Removal of the bumper........ (This scarred the **** out of me!!!!) just grab ahold of one of the corners, then gradually pull! That's it. The clips will come out gradually and evenly.
