Same problem with the ignitors on the burners myself.  But only when i turn on the left side burners do they continually spark.  Any one know what ignition module on this?  How does it prove flame?  To ground?  Might I have a bad ground causing it to not rectify the flame?

Justin Lilly, I solved this problem by ensuring the ignitor was close enough to the flame. Clean the ignitor and the burner, so the ignitor rectifies the flame. The module is thinking there is no flame so it continually tries to fire the burner. Check the grounds to your module as well.

Oven turns off while baking

There is a service flash, W10622771, for gas ranges of your model number--the bake burner ignitor is not lighting the gas--it's a direct spark ignition type. The ignitor is sparking but no ignition. Possible causes are (1) Wiring harness might be pinched between the bake/broil ignitors and the DSI board. (2) DSI mounting bracket may be contacting a solder joint on the back of the board. (3) Positioning of the ignitor and gas burner ignitor ports may be out of adjustment. (4) Ignitor electrode deterioration
Facing the range, the DSI board is behind the control panel on the left side, mounted in the bracket. You'll have to remove the back cover to expose the boards. BE SURE TO UNPLUG THE RANGE BEFORE DOING THIS. I can provide diagnostic mode if you want to proceed further.

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

Based on your description, " igneters heat up and the left hand burner lights to full flame but dies down to a very low flame after about 1 minute. The right hand burner does not light at all" the hot surface ignitor for the bake burner is likely the problem.

This is what it should look like, in the event you're not sure what the ignitor is...

macmarkus_165.jpg

Here's what you can try to verify if it's indeed the ignitor...if you're mechanically inclined.

**Turn off the breaker or unplug the range and turn off the gas to the appliance before attempting any service...safety first**

if the boiler has the same ignitor ( some do some don't ) one could swap the ignitor`s ( very carefully, they are very fragile and don`t like to be handled ) this will allow you to use the bake burner, but it will leave you without the broil function...until you have a diagnosis and can purchase another.

This will confirm or dismiss if the ignitor is at fault...99% of the time this is the case. You can also check them via an ohm meter if you have one. Follow this guide...
macmarkus_166.jpg

You should be able to find one at most brick & mortar appliance parts vendors or on-line depot's such as "repairclinic.com", "searspartsdirect.com" to name a couple.

You can ask for part number 12400035, That is the most common ignitor and is compatible with the Viking/Ultraline ranges such as yours.

I would still double check with your model number with the part`s professional`s. there is a slim chance the safety valve is faulty, but not very likely based on your description/symptoms.

Hope that help`s. Let me know if I can assist you further and good luck.

Thank`s for visiting "fixya" for your repair needs.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Oven does not heat up

most likely you have a bad bake ignitor part number WB13K21 and it's around 80 dollars, unplug the machine or shut down the breaker, remove the racks, remove the bottom floor of the oven, remove the flame panel and you'll see the ignitor attached to the burner tube, unplug the wire harness going to the ignitor, remove the screws holding the ignitor in place, plug in the new ignitor and put the screws back in,turn the power on and put it on bake, the ignitor should start to glow and the flame should lite in around 40 seconds.there are other ignitors that you can use in the stove, the only difference is that you cut the wires going to the old ignitor and splice in the new ignitor and use ceramic wire nuts to connect the wires together,it just doesn't have the harness connector on it

Unplug the range.
Remove the oven racks.
remove the oven base pan.
remove the flame spreader pan.
remove the glow bar ignitor on the left hand side of the gas burner and replace it with a good ignitor.

My oven does not light , only the propane comes through , and i have to shut it down , does not get up to temp

Your glowbar ignitor part number 5303935066 must be replaced, Unplug the range and turn off the gas. Remove yje oven racks, The oven base pan. Then remove the flame spreader. You will see the glowbar ignitor attached to the side of the bake burner. Remove it and replace it with a new ignitor. Replace all the range parts.Turn on the power and turn on the gas supply.
The part is approximately $65 thru the Sears parts site.

Whirlpool gas oven-Super Capacity 465

When you turned the oven off, if the ignitor went off and the gas kept flowing then the thermal valve is defective. Maybe that was the problem all along.

JGBP33 BAKE IGNITOR

You did not post a complete model number, but this should help:
Take racks out of oven. Remove two screws at the very back of the oven bottom. Lift back side of bottom up and back a bit to remove oven floor. Remove flame spreader (one nut at center). ignitor is at the back left of burner, most likely a WB2X9154 (round style) ignitor. The entire burner can be removed rather easily at this point if you remove the two screws at the front and disconnect the ignitor wire (if you wish to have easier access to ignitor mounting screws.)

Ignitor won't shut off

The Viking manual says that an ignitor that continues to try to light even after the burner has been lit indicates improper grounding, and that an electrician should be consulted.

Perhaps you could try to replace the ignitor, and see if that fixes the problem?

I have a similar age, 6-burner 36" rangetop.

Problem with getting burner to light.

All my ignitors spark when I turn one of them on. I'v been told it is normal. I had a problem before and the tech that replace the ignitor said the issues is with alignment. Try to rotate the burner a bit left or right and see if it fixes it.

Ignitors keep firing by themselves after my aunt cleaned them 24 hours ago After she did the major cleaning of the stove I used the oven and it worked fine. I lit a burner (Probably front?) and the left...

If they ignitors worked properly before you aunt cleaned them, the problem could be with the way they were cleaned and what they were cleaned with. Please tell me how she cleaned them and with what. Also, had she cleaned them before without incurring any problems, or was this the first time she had cleaned them?
