USB Printer does not recognize with XP Computer

In most cases, the driver for a printer is supplied when you purchase it. It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to provide the driver along with the device to make sure the working.

However, most of the Operating Systems come with native driver support for many known printers. This is the fact we have to take care while purchasing a printer. Even though we misplaced the driver disc, if we purchase a good manufacturer printer, there is a chance to get the native support from Operating System itself.

There are some scenarios where printer may not be recognized by the Operating System due to some conflict with other devices.

Please follow the troubleshooting steps and check the operation:
  • Ensure that the supplied USB cable is firmly connected to both the printer and computer side.

ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 audio driver installed but giving no sound.

Go to Start - My Computer, right click on it - Properties - Hardware - Device Manager and in there check that the sound device is correctly identified and loaded (no yellow triangles with ? in them). Then go to Start - Control Panel - Sounds and Audio devices and make sure it's correctly configured and the volume icon option is ticked - untick, save and tick it again to be sure.

No sound

Sounds like you just reinstalled Windows XP. When you do this, you write a new system registry and there is no record left of any drivers on the comptuer. Your next task is to go to the manufacturer's site and download and install the sound drivers and any others that are missing.
These drivers are not included in Windows.

....no sound? you will need to check your windows xp drivers for your sound card. you most likely will need to install them, use that make and model of your soundcard to install the drivers back.
