We had similar problems but it not sure to tell if it is the tempreature control panel or the CPU board that is faulty.
Sometimes is only a loose contact of the cables conecting the the too boards.
So I sugest to check first the cables and conector on the twwo boards and be sure you have them well secured.
If this is ok then for 70% is the temperature control boards which need to be replaced.

Hello,

You need to check the temperature settings and see if there is enough air flow in the refrigerator and freezer. You need to check for air flow restrictions in the vents and clean the compressor coils. The door seals, door switch, defrost heater and timer has to be checked. Also clean the clogged drain tube and refrigerant leak.

Take care.

The self defrost mechanism is not working. The evaporator is getting blocked with ice, an insulator, and that affects freezer as well as refrig temps. When you unplug unit the ice melts and it will work till the ice block returns.

Lg lsc27931sb refrigerator won't cool or freez3

Sounds like the auto defrost drain in the freezer is blocked with ice and the water is draining down into the refrig box. Usual cure is to remove inside panels in the freezer to expose the cooling coils area. Then use a hairdryer to melt the ice. Plenty of rags for this. Next you must clear the ice blockage in the drain. Make a loop of #12 or #10 copper wire (bare) about 18 in long. Hold it with a pair of pliers while you heat it with the hairdryer. It will slowly melt the ice in the drain hole. Pour hot water through the drain until it come out on the drip pan below. Now you need to see why the ice forms. Just above where the drain hole is under the coils should be a calrod heater that is powered by the defrost timer to melt the ice. It sometimes gets out of position. Another possibility is the failure of the defrost timer. If you can rotate it manually see if it initiates a defrost cycle. If so and does work, check wirinf connectors at the timer. If OK replace timer.

I have a Whirlpool refrig./freezer. I have no problem with the ice dropping in the bucket, but when I try to dispense it under the chute,it wil not dispense. The water works fine. This is a side side ...

Sometimes the ice will collect, melt, and freeze into a giant headache. If you have the one where you can get ice out of the holding bin inside the freezer, see if the ice bin will come apart from the rest of the dispenser. If it doesn't come easily, get as much ice out of the bin, get a wet vac ready and pour warm water on the ice. It will run through the dispenser. Once things come apart easily, you can take it over to sink and get rid of the ice blockage with warm water, let it dry, reinstall, and check to see if it works. Hope this helps.

FREEZER ERRATIC. Will work for 6 to 12 hours and

You will have to remove the inside rear freezer panel .The # 4 thermistor is bad . This tells the main control board , the temp of the coils , if they need defrosted , when they are thru defrosting . This thermistor is the 1 " long , torpedo looking piece , clipped on the top left of the coils , with 2 white wires going to it . Part number WR55X10025 . It would be advisable to also replace the # 5 thermistor , located at the bottom of the freezer , slightly in front of the drain , also with 2 white wires going to it , slid into a housing . This thermistor , is the freezer thermistor , which tells the control board , the freezer temp and when to cycle off due to temp setting .

Ice melts, then refreezes. Rubber Is HOT

Pull the refrig out , and remove the back panel . Is the fan that cools the compressor working ? Is the coil roll clean ? If the fan is not working , then the problem is probably the main control board . Behind the 8"X10" panel , above the compressor area . Remove the cover , and look for a burnt resistor , just to be safe . If this fan does not work , then the coils and the refrigerant line running between the doors , will get very hot .

GE fridge is warm and broken; the freezer is cold though.

Air circulation problem. Evaporator fan in freezer moves some air to refrig. Either fan is not working or air passages are blocked with ice. If ice found, then a defrost component failure has occurred. Fix what you find.

GE refrig Model # GSS25WGMD WW freezer is cool, compressor is running, but food is thawing out, ice has melted...not sure if I left door open ovenight, should I call repair..show long does it take to...

I pulled the refrig out from the wall, turned it off, took off the back panel (that covers the compressor fan and motor) and used the attachment on my vacuum to remove the dust from the area. Then I closed the flapper that allows the ice to release from the ice maker compartment to the dispenser, so no warm air would get into the freezer area. I plugged the refrigerator back in and within an hour it was freezing again! So far this week, I have had to repair the garbage disposal and the refrigerator.....I saved some nice $$$ by figuring this out by myself!

My GSS22SGRE Side by Side freezer & Refrig temp is too warm

Possible the defrost thermostat is bad and need to be replaced. Not allowing the evaporator coil ice buildup to melt , which acts like an insulation and restricts the air flow in the freezer compartment.

Leak from icemaker shorts electricity in house

It sounds like the ice in the bin is warming up enough to melt for some reason then re-freeze. Check your door gasket seal and also the ice chute door flapper seal to make sure warm room air isn't being drawn into the ice bin area. Also make sure the freezer area is VERY cold like 0 degrees F or lower, that will keep the ice hard and help stop the ice from having a liquid surface film from opening and closing the freezer door too often (then freezing again). The water down the back is from the ice cubes melting a little then re-freezing. Also, is the frige working OK? Does the compressor turn on and off normally? I ask because sometimes the compress start device is failing and the refer can warm up quite a bit while the compressor is trying to start up... eventually the compressor will start but by then the ice has melted a little then the compressor runs for a long time to bring the temps down again. Monitoring with a thermometer every hour will show if the temps are lowering in the freezer section too much.
