I have an old RCA 52 in big screen that just went out on me. The picture and sound both went out at one time and one of the components inside the tv just beeps constantly. Would anyone happen to know what it could be and how to fix it?

Sounds like it time for a new one by the time you have it looked at and repaired your better offer just to buy a new on sale

Any set is repairable. It is the question of the cost and the availability of replacement parts.
It sounds like a component overheated and blew. Most likely there will be collateral damage where other components will also be damaged.
The failure could be in the power supply, or in any of the main drive circuits in the set.
You will have to call for a service estimate. In considering the age of this set, my preference would be to go out and get a descent LCD or Plasma set. The picture quality and performance of these new sets are far superior to the one you have!

Your convergence amplifiers are begining to malfunction. This is not expensive However I would advise that you get a qualified TV technician to work on the set due to a chance of damaging you TV if you install the amplifiers incorrectly.

if you heard a hissing or like static sound your board probably has a hole in it now. the board on the left side with the flyback fransformer. the hole is from where a prong has come loose an is arking over an it burns the board the ark is the sound you heard.

A 1995 60 inch rca good picture and sound. Then it started a cracking noise and a hissing sound, then the picture went blurry. then it was nice picture and sound, then it died. took the back off and turned out the lights. Plugged the tv in and out from the wall socket and there was a sparking noise and a small arc when i plugged it in and out a few times ,at the part that the power plug plugs into.The white part that is beside the white power plug part has thick red wire coming out of it and goes into another plug that has more red wires in it. but the big white part beside the power plug part looks burnt and has black powder on it. that part is probably the problem but maybe not, what it the name of that part and how much would it cost and is it plugged in or soldered.

tv worked great, turned it off one day and back on the next and the on light would not come on nor would the tv work, rear projection 52 inch rca

check all connections and different sources(dvd, vcr, antenna) to make sure that it is the tv. otherwise i would say call a technician because you could be in for some extensive troubleshooting

hi there, you maybe have a defective parts at the horrizontal section, or some cold solder, loose connection inside the unit. do some check-up, cleaning and testing. ty

You have bad convergence IC's.. If your not experienced in troubleshooting electronics or soldering, you should have a trained tech take a gander at the set. Its not worth risking life and limb to save a few bucks, Good Luck
