The first thing to solve is the loss of coolant. Fixing a radio in a car that you're not going to put money into fixing is throwing money away. Coolant loss can be a result of something as simple as a loose clamp on one of the hoses between the radiator and engine, or engine and heater core. That would be the simple DIY repair. You could have a water pump, heater core or radiator that is leaking - this will likely require replacement of the item leaking. These can be relatively expensive repairs (between $100 to $500 or more) to complete.

It is also possible that the head gasket has failed or engine block has cracked. This can be a very expensive ($400 and up) repair. You should check the oil dipstick. If you can see coolant mixed in with the oil or if it is milky - white in appearance, it indicates that the coolant has mixed with the oil. These two systems (lubrication and cooling) are isolated from each other, and should never mix. An additional check is to run the engine as usual - at least up to normal operating temperature - and while idling - look for steam exiting the exhaust pipe. This would also help to confirm a gasket or engine block failure.

Park the car in a location at night that has a relatively "blemish free" appearance. If it is too spotty - slip cardboard or something under the engine compartment instead. This can help you identify the location of where the leak is originating.

Hopefully this is a good starting point for you - good luck!

My radio in my 2001 town and country cuts on and off. If i put a CD in it only plays like 30 seconds then it cuts off and then turns back on. CAn you help me try and fix this?!

here is some guidance, sounds like a bad connection to the car's wiring harness. go over to and search for a video of chrysler radio removal. the 01 chryslers will all pretty much be the same and if there is a dodge or plymouth model close in appearance they will be the same as well, so keep searching. if you find one that shows you how to remove the radio, that will allow you to find the plug on the back of the radio which connects to the wiring harness, make sure it is snapped all the way in. failing that you have a more complex problem but i would start by getting another similar radio from a junkyard or eBay. once you take it out the first time, it will be easy to put in another one. the next easy step after the wiring harness connector is to ensure the radio itself is not the problem such as a bad power switch.

Instrument panel lights

Did this happen after the batt was replaced, the BCM controlls the cluster illumination, radio, evic, might be issue there, there is a software update for this module 2001-2002, if not , only half of lights work, sounds like the rest are burnt out, R+R the cluster and replace the bulbs, get them from Dodge, GOOD LUCK, RDJRP

2005 Chrysler Town & Country Radio & DVD problem

I had the same problem.

Open the front hood and go to the fuse box under (right next to the battery).

Replace the 20A fuse labeled RDO/Power

I am sorry that the owners manual does not even mention this.
