Yes I had a similar problem and in fact returned my printer for a replacement. You need clearance as the CD tray emerges some 2.5 to 3 inches behind the printer. If the tray hits an obstacle it is unable to correctly line up for printing and the trat is rejected

mmm...Maybe try updating the firmware. That printer is a Zebra Z96XiIII Plus printer. Zebra made a change in their code for the onboard clock in version 184.108.40.206 See if you have that version and if not, you can to to www.zebra.com and download firmware for the printer.

Brady printers have a sensor that reads information from the cartridge. The printer will not work if a connection cannot be made to the cartridge.The most common cause of failure is in the cartridge and switching to a different cartridge usually fixes that problem. Having the same problem with two cartridges is starting to indicate there is a failure in the printer, although it is possible (but not likely) to have two cartridges in row fail. A good first step is to be sure the printer is clean. If that doesn't work you'll most likely need to send your printer in for repair. It could either be a faulty smart cell on th elabel cartridge or the smart cell reader on the printer. Confirm by using different types of label rolls. If same problem repeats, the smart cell reader will have to be replaced by a qualified serice personnel.
