problems include failing ac pulley bearings , failing compressor , excessive gas in the ac
have an ac specialist check the gas pressures
before replacing the belt see if the ac pulley can be turned by hand with the ac off and then on
of course check the compressor for malfunction but that would never explain a puff of smoke in the cab what did the puff of smoke smell like just a water vapor electrical, rubber,
It seems that your unit has some sort of PSU fault, or a problem that is shutting down the Power Supply Unit, PSU. This happens so that no further damage, and possible fire will occur. The flashing LED is justa coincidence I would think.
You need to take the unit to a reputable service centre/man and ask for a firm "Quote" for the work to be done.
I have seen no rechargeable device that requires the power switch that lets the device function turned on.
Often, it is mentioned that the length of time for a full charge will be longer if the unit is in use at the time since the unit and recharging function both require power and if the player is in use, it logically has priority over the recharging function.
In other words, it should charge more quickly if the player is turned off.
Unfortunately, Initial's website: http://initialdvd.com/ is no longer in operation so finding the manual could be a problem.
Initial Technology has sold a number of 'turkeys' in the US (we own an Ilo TV) and I think they no longer exist.
Some smoke detectors are AC-only, so there is no battery. Dual-power units typically have the battery compartment on the back of the unit, where it attaches to the wall or ceiling.
Most units must be removed from their mounting bracket to change the battery, as the battery cover is on the back.
You rotate the unit about 1/2 turn counter clockwise, and it should come off the wall/ceiling. If it has an AC power connection, you unplug that so you can change the battery more easily.
Initially, I would suspect the battery (even when plug to the AC). To confirm, pls try running without the battery and purely on AC adapter. Alternately, it could be a loose component internally such as the memory, LAN or WiFi card and in some models, video card. In my Toshiba, it turned out that the WiFi was consuming too much power that it discharges the battery rapidly and the charger was having a hard time coping up. My solution was to turnoff the built-in WiFi and install a D-Link USB.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
I would also check with compaq about your problem. They were replacing and repairing the units free of charge due to the defects. I would check with them
