Question about Dishwashers
Welcome to FixYa,
Based on your description... I`d suspect a plugged or really dirty wash pump. It could ultimately be a worn out wash
impeller/chopper assembly, but I'd certainly try my suggestions before considering that.
The place to start for that is to pull the pump filter, spray arm and check for food deposit, broken glass, undissolved detergent and general water deposit built up in the sump well.
The key is to get in there and clean it all out, I`ve attached a link at the bottom that will show you how to go about it, ( This will be applicable to most Whirlpool, Inglis, Kenmore, Kitchen-Aid, Jenn-Air )
When you`re finished run it through a test cycle and see how it goes. You may even want to run it empty with just a bowl of "white vinegar" on the top rack for a dishwasher bath.
Let me know how you make out and what you find.
