There is a short somewhere else. You have to try the other boards and use the process if elimination to service this.

This is why I tell people not to go out and buy a board on a guess. It is possible to have a short somewhere else that damaged the supply, and you may now have a newly damaged supply with still having the original failure that must be first found!

The factory service people have the necessary jiggs and diagnostics tools to figure out what the problem is.

Gateway dx 4320 wont turn on

It could be a few things:

a faulty power switch - you say that you've changed the PSU, but did that include the switch?

it could also be a Faulty Motherboard or CPU. If either of them are fried, you won't see anything come on either.

I'd suggest checking the switch first because that's the cheapest and easiest to replace

My computer won't boot up and the orange light just stays on. The moniter is working, the fans in the power supply is working

Could be your motherboard. Does anything come up on the screen at all when you boot up? Do you hear a beep at startup? Also check to make sure your hard drive is spinning just to be sure.

My screen wont come on until about 2 hours after turned on, moniter is an acerAl1716B

Have you tried a general reset ? or unplugging it and plugging it back after a few minutes ?

Otherwise this sounds a lot like a power supply problem.

Qdi motherboard only 200watt power supply hooked up and the 4 12v pin is not hooked up computer turns on but moniter doesnt

you need min 250w power supply with the right connector.
do not try to splice any of the power wire. it will work but you will get burn later.

No start up , button lites up - cd-rom wont open , noticed no fans on for 3d card or big one on mother board

If the cpu/heatsink fan isn't turning then most pc's will shut down to avoid further damage to cpu & board. I would first replace the fan if it's the one over your cpu. Try replacing power supply. If your board has the 4 pin plug, you must have that plugged in. But keep in mind if that fan isn't running a new power supply isn't going to make it start working. You have to have that fan working. Then go from there. If once it is working & other devices like video and/or roms aren't, check your memory. The best way to troubleshoot devices are to plug one at a time in and power up until the problem starts. Hopefully you won't have to go to that step.

Dell moniter

The power supply has most likely gone out. Check for 12v and 5v output and also the solder arround d903 and d907. The site www.lcdrepair.us sells the part as well as a repair kit and has instructions.
