Gateway built in laptop speaker are sqeeking

Laptop speakers often suffer the consequences when you snack while using the laptop, usually while surfing the Web.

Small particles of chips, crackers and other sources of crumbs easily fall into the little holes of your laptop's speakers, therefore causing sound distortion.

This sound distortion problem can be fixed by cleaning out your laptop's speakers with a safe process that does not require any dismantling of the laptop.

Turn the laptop off, unplug the power cord and remove the battery to lower the risk of damage to the computer and electric shock.

Wipe away any exterior debris using a cotton swab.

Dip the cotton swab in rubbing alcohol and swab away to remove any sticky residue.

Rubbing alcohol dries quickly, making it ideal for cleaning electronics.

Use a hand-held vacuum with the brush attachment to vacuum out any debris in the speakers.

A full-sized vacuum may be too powerful and can damage the speakers.

Reinstall the battery, plug the computer back into the electrical outlet and start it up.

Hope this helps

Insert SIM Card Problem Fix

The "Insert SIM Card" problem can be irritating when it keeps on popping up even when a SIM card is actually been inserted into the phone's SIM card holder. It can sometimes be remedied by cleaning both the SIM card and the holder terminals with a cotton swab immersed in alcohol; most preferably 70% alcohol solution. Sometimes the holder is not tightly holding the SIM card causing the problem. This can be solved by padding up the back of the SIM card with a small sheet paper or any appropriate material enough for the holder to hold the SIM card tightly. Another way to fix the problem is by bending in the mid-section of the SIM holder cover.

Nokia 1110, 1110i, 1200, 1028, 1209 and all other member of the family of Nokia phones with USB ports similar to the ones mentioned earlier have the tendencies to experience the "Insert SIM Card" problem not due to a dirty terminals nor a loose holder but due to dirty, soiled, or oxidized USB port terminals. The fix is just as simple as cleaning the USB port terminals but make sure to remove the phone battery prior to the cleaning. Use a paper clip, a safety pin, or a needle with bended tip to scrape off the dirt between the port terminals and dip it in alcohol to wash it out.

The cleaning can be done without the necessity of disassembling the phone but if proper tools are available, disassemble the phone to clean the inside of the system connector, the one where the USB port, the charging socket, and the headset socket are located.

People may wonder how a dirty USB port can lead to the "Insert SIM Card" issue and guess what; it is not even included in the Nokia Service Manual. The fix was discovered accidentally and proven many times that a dirty USB port is indeed the source of the problem.

My biostar motherboard G31-M7 TE have 2 slots to insert ram.. but one of the slots could not work.. whats the best solution to make it work?

Clean the faulty slot with anti static brush and isopropylene alcohol. Leave the motherboard for a few minutes to dry the cleaned slot. Inspect the defective slot carefully is there any pins are burnt or pins are misaligned. If so clear the burning and realign the pins. Reinsert the memory module and switch on.

How to clean ozone plates

Unplug the machine.
1) Remove the back screen, then pull out the plates.
2)Soak them in a 1 to 1 solution of PLAIN ammonia and warm water for about 5 minutes.
3)Scrub with a toothbrush or soft veggie brush.
4)Rinse well.
5)Blow dry. Do NOT use any cloth or paper of any kind. Avoid touching the screen with fingers.
6)You can also clean the contact points with a cotton-tipped swab and alcohol.
6)Reinsert plates, making sure that they enter in the "groove" or track, both top and bottom. Make sure the contact fingers press firmly on both sides in the screen area.

I have a motorola clutch my phone was sitting on the able when it lit up! when i grabbed it and looked at it, it restarted itself then the screen said insert sim but the sim card is already in it!

Your problem could be with the sim card, with the sim interface on the phone and or sim ic on the circuit board.

1. First, let's check the sim card, switch off the phone > remove the sim card > clean it properly using a small ball of cotton dipped in alcohol or acetone, > let it dry > Now put the same sim card on another mobile > if it's working then go to next step, if it's not, then the problem is with your sim card. You need another replacement.

2. Now clean the sim interface/connector on the mobile using cotton dipped in alcohol or acetone, After they are dried, insert the sim card and power on the phone. How is it? Is it working now? Let's hope................ go.. yes it's working.
Oops, it's not, then next step..
3. Open it apart and clean whatever is possible, [use a soft brush with alcohol or acetone to clean the components]. When everything's dried, assemble it an insert the sim card again. If it's not successful. Your last option is to get it done from a mobile repairing shop or from a servicing center. They will check the phone on the computer using the specific software and hardware, then they will handle with your mobile's hardware, possibly sim ic and sim connector.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Hello i have a prepaid cellphone and its At&t

You need to clean the contacts on the phone. Remove the battery and sim card. Take some rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab and gently rub the contacts of the sim card on the phone and on the sim. Let it air dry for 30 minutes. Reinsert everything and it should work.

Printer has been working fine. Now it says

did u changed / replaced the cartridge with original spare or refilled it??
do not panic..this kind of problem often follows with (esp. an unbranded) cartridge change and or refilling..!!
it also can be the defective cartridge itself causing such problem..!!
well if u r a professional then just dip a cotton into isopropyl alcohol n gently rub the connector sensor/ contact surface, n reinsert it properly, gently rub on the head too n make sure ink is coming/flowing, make sure the toner is not jammed or dried up, also have a glance on the 'carriage' n see that no sensor pins are broken and or bend..!!
..if u r not an professional, make sure it is properly inserted and the ink-spill protective/head covering is removed..
if all the above fails, then it may b a defective or demo cartridge..!!
and call ur system admin....

Insert SIM

the contacts for the sim card may be dirty have a short ( was the phone dropped). Use a cotton swab and some contact cleaner (rubbing alcohol will work fine) and gently rub the contacts with the alcohol soaked swab. try inserting the sim card after the alcohol has had a chance to evaporate (about thirty minutes or so). [NOTE: the following may sound complicated and you may not be comfortable doing it - if this is the case then take it to a repair shop or get a friend who is inclined to to this sort of stuff] (I have done this several times and have had no ill results) If this does not help, use a (I think # t-5 or 6) star bit to remove the cover and casing. clean all the contacts with the alcohol (make sure you leave no strands of cotton behind), allow to dry and put it back together. After all this, and it still does not work I can only assume the controller board is damaged somehow.
