SOURCE: steamed milk

I just had this same problem and solved it.  It was due to a very small amount of milk residue on the inside of the black frothing unit (the one with the dial which lets you choose foam or no foam).  Grip the dial firmly and pull it out while twisting. It may take a few seconds to twist and pull it out.  I had a very small spec of milk residue in one of the crevices on this piece.  Quick clean with a toothpick and plenty of hot water, reassembled, and it works perfectly.  Hope this helps someone.

SOURCE: machine does not dispense milk properly

There is a pin in the cappucinator the needs to be turned slowly to create the venturi action to make it work. If you have lost the pin it won't work.

SOURCE: I have a Delonghi Magnifica

I purchased a unit second hand for my wife's birthday today. It's only 4 months old, got it home, tested it, same problem... No froth!

I've read all the posts here and all were very helpful troubleshooting guides however they did not solve the issue.

Understanding how the frothing mechanism functions is half the battle in figuring out the solution. It's a simple vacuum type system. No doubt you've read about checking the orings. This is definately the first thing to check however if this is not the reason then consider the following.

The larger of the white tubes that has the red and black oring inserts deep into its port on the tap. Why? It pushes steam past the milk pipe directly into the chrome frothing tube which causes a vacuum essentially drawing milk up it's hose creating the froth. What you can't see without further investigation is that on the underside of the tube centered between the red and black orings is a small hole. This hole is responsible for drawing the milk upwards. If this is blocked, and it probably is then no milk and no froth. Use a really small screwdriver to carefully clean the white tube both from the front and the little hole underneath.

So in conclusion. Any air leak between the red and black orings will prevent the vacuum required to draw milk up the tube and alternatively any blockage of the milk channel will also obviously prevent the flow into the frothing mechanism. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: my incanto rapid steam wont prime. the red

I have investigated this machine on the internet and experienced users reinforced my original opinion that the machine needs cleaning.

One user who had used several of these machine professionally, said that frequent cleaning was essential. Once a month would be reasonable for the machine.

Miele CVA4070 Steam (capucinatore) makes no noise and produces no steam

There are numerous problems where you get little or not steam but you can hear the pump trying to do something, this is often a blockage or a venturi tube problem and you can find numerous posts about how to fix it. If you get no noise at all when requesting steam then it is likely that the steam pump has failed. You can find the instructions to remove the steam pump (and most other components) here:
and you will also find detailed schematics of each of the systems. I removed the back plates as described and found that my steam pump showed clear signs of having burned out while the coffee/hot water pump looked fine.

Milk system is not working. only steam comes out.

a good cleaning of the milk pipes will probably fix this - the milk dires in the tubes if not cleaned regulaerly and clogs the pipes preventing the milk from being dispensed

The steam milk facility in my CVA5060 is not working; the machine tells me to 'clean milk pipework' . It looks from the manual like I should have a specific flask for this; I don't have one. I...

You have clogged milk pipework, likely caused by not rinsing/cleaning the pipework after dispensing milk. This has happened to me a few times and we have had Miele out to fix it. Only they can unscrew the unit to look inside and repair can be expensive. Today, I found a solution I wanted to share!
Remove the front cover off the spigots so you can clearly see the nozzles where the milk runs out. Run a rinsing program on the unit, and it will emit steam and hiss and nothing will come through. That is OK for now. Using a balled up towel, plug the side where you are only getting steam coming through. You are essentially causing pressure to build up in the pipework which will dislodge whatever is blocking the system. Careful, as steam will penetrate the towel as my little burnt finger will tell you. The second time I did it, I pressed the towel into position with a like a charm and no burnt fingers. Both sides were blocked for me and now run smoothly. Hope this helps someone ;)

My machine says " fix

It says fit jets in central spout, not fix. The stainless steel cover over where the coffee comes out sits on top of the central jets. pull the dispenser down as far as it will go. Now pull it straight out to you. reach up and grab the black plastic piece that holds the central jets. pull it straight down. Now fit the central jet housing into the stainless steel cover. put the cover back on and push it firmly up into place. if it still says fit central jets, pull the stainless steel cover down and slam it up a little harder. there is a switch up inside that needs to feel the presence of the central jets so it doesnt spray coffee and milk everywhere. You should be cleaning those jets every 24 hours anyway. Get the manual out and go through the maintenance proceedures. that milk will start to turn into green cheese if you dont clean the jets and pipework every night.

My miele cva 4075 is not heating the frothed milk or coffee up as well any more...sometimes a Fault 73 shows on the screen..i have cleaned the brew unit with tablets and water etc...what should i do next?

Hello Loriktarrant,

I understand the your Meile CVA4075 is showing you an F73 code. This code means that the brew unit needs to be cleaned. Here is a link to the owners manual on page 40 it shows you how to manually remove and clean the brew unit. The other issue you are having with the milk and coffe not being hot enough could be to the machine needing descaled. enter the numbers in the box and click download.

Thank you for choosing

Miele CVA610 error reads expel air but when we do as manual suggests (run hot water & milk frother) no water comes out.

- Make sure that the filled water container is in the appliance.

- Turn the program selector to "On" with lighting and place a container under the hot water spout and another

under the steam spout.

- Press the hot water button, turn the steam selector counterclockwise and dispense hot water until it flows in

quiet, continuous streams.

- Press the hot water button again.

Turn the steam selector clockwise to o, to turn off the water.

If this doesn't do it for you, you are doing it wrong!

Steamer/Frother not steaming..just spurts water - cva2660

Not sure if this will help you or not. I have the CVA4075 built-in coffee maker. I had the same problem several times. You have to take apart the froth dispenser/intake hose and break it down into its individual pieces. Use manual for this. Then blow really hard thru each piece to loosen tiny stuck particles. Works every time. I tried descaling, cleaning, washing in dishwasher first, but to no avail.
