Sony Marine Radio

Installed Sony Marine radio/cd player in my boat and it seems to randomly power down when I turn up volume and sort of reset. Is this some kind of safety feature. Been a while since I installed anything like this my self.

What I found was the locking mechanism was not holding tight enough when the face cover was closed. This caused intermittent operation, I cured it by taping a thin pad on the cover so the prong would make full contact. My only concern is that the seal may not be water tight.

I have a new Sony Marine radio and they keep getting blown up and I don't know why. Some say it's due to my GPS antenna being so close to the radio, while others say it's due to to much voltage (which is 14.5- 14.8). The fuse on the back has never been blown but the unit comes up stating OFFSET. The manual states that this is a internal problem but what's causing it??

I'd like to know before getting a new radio, I've gone through two units so far.

My car battery died.when i put in a new my cd player stop working

If your radio is still working, then your power is OK. The Sony CD changer gets its power from the Sony Unilink cable. It is possible that it passed a power spike down to your CD player while hooking up your battery cables.

I just had a CDX-757MX just die a few days ago myself. My radio, amps, and other changers are still working. Could be an unfortunate coincidence.

Our cd player in car will not turn on. It came on randomly once while we were driving stayed on for a couple days and turned off again. no visible on button...

-Start off by checking the fuse. That is the easiest thing to do. It should be in your fuse box or kick panel either a 15A or 20A you'll have to look in your manual.
-If that doesn't solve it remove the radio and check that either the ground or ANT has a good connection this seems like the problem probably hit a bump and got a good ground connection.
-Next check the fuse in the radio
-Smell the radio see if it smells burnt

Car audio player won't fit in my model??

It will fit fine. You need to buy a dash kit. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120997505/Mazda-In-dash-Receiver-Kit.html?tp=861

If you don't want to order it online you can go to best buy and buy one.

Sony radio cdxgt210

Use the main control knob. The one that turns your volume up and down. If you press it in it should go through bass, treble, fade, balance, and sub. Then use that same knob to adjust it by turning it left or right.

CDs not playing

Clean the lens. Use only a special CD lens cleaner and follow the instructions carefully. If that seems intact, (and you feel comfortable doing it) check the traverse assembly (the metal rod that the laser travels along and the gear that drives it) if CDs aren't recognized or won't play, frequent skipping occurs at random, CDs randomly get stuck in one spot, the player can't find tracks correctly, or cleaning the lens doesn't work. Dust and lint may be interrupting its function.
If that doesn't work then have the laser-head assembly checked by a repair person if the traverse assembly seems intact and free of debris.

No sound

It's very likely that you have a factory amplifier in the vehicle that needs to be either turned on or (preferably) bypassed to get sound to the speakers. If your vehicle is a Mustang, it's almost certain that you have a factory amp. If the factory plug includes a long, 8-pin gray plug and a small, square 8-pin plug connected to a round cable, then the amp turn-on wire is at the opposite end of the gray plug from the constant power wire. This needs to be connected to the blue/white wire on the Sony head unit for the factory amp to turn on. Otherwise, if you dig into the radio cavity a little bit, you'll find a black 8-pin connector that looks very similar to the gray connector at the back of the radio. The black connector pins are connected directly to the speakers, bypassing the factory amp.
