They come with a 3 amp fuse. I usually change it to a 4 or a 5 amp fuse.

Maxon wire fuses

If a inline fuse in a holder the old one will aside from length have the amperage printed on it---very few mobile radios use larger than a 3 amp fuse-----look on metal ends of old fuse if have it for markings like 3ag 3 250---3AG is size, 3 is 3 amp, 250 is max working voltage (120 is fine).

What size fuse goes in the power supply cord

A 5 amp fuse would be perfect for your radio in-line power supply cord.

Hope this helps.

What size fuse do i need on the positive side do i need if i have it hooked to the battery. my cb is a maxon mcb-40. if u cud tell me what size inline fuse i need it would help alot thank you

Most un-modified CB radios run about 2 to 4 amps on transmit. A 5 amp fuse is sufficient for most radios. Check you owners manual for the correct size fuse to use.

Radio loses signal strength when truck battery on or mike keyed.

Wire your radio directly to battery!
Run about 12 guage stranded wire to your battery with a Blade fuse standard size with a 25 amp fuse sice your using a CB Amplifier inbetween put a 30 amp auto relay.going through the switching contacts.
Now wire a grond to 1 side of relay coil the other use a12v source from fuse box so when key is turned on the radio will come on! If you want cb to come on anytime then I suggest skip relay and rub wires to
the floor with insulated banna connectors but put that fuse in line also the fuses on your cb and amplifier to.

Your problem is your trying to gather DC for your radio off a vecical power source them wires are to thin and you may be getting a Bad ground saight t the battery only best way! If your radio gets weak check your battery if you hve a cb amplifier on turn off durring transmissions without car running! goood luck
