Hello,

Did you test the screen before paying for it?

There are three things that could cause this:

1. The new screen might not be good, not well connected, or not compatible with the system.

2., The screen inverter of the laptop might be defective.

3. the screen flex the connect from the motherboard to the screen might be bad.

The three above mentioned, are responsible for the screen display, so cross check as the problem might be from one of the three.

Good luck.

How do i fix my hp laptop screen displaying white

1) Check if the laptop is able to be shown on an external monitor. If it shows up, then it is a screen issue on the laptop.

OR

2) But if it doesn't show up on the external monitor, then its video problem on the laptop motherboard. The video chip is part of the laptop board, it solders on. So its not user replaceable like how it is on a desktop.

Desktop video, if the on board/discrete card doesn't work, then you simply get a video card and plug that into the computer. Install the new driver after removing the existing driver (on board or old video card) and then your good to go.

My HP Pavilion dv8210us has white column that blocks out start and icons on screen, everything else I can see any ideas how to fix?

try displaying monitor on external screen. if it is present then it is the video card and motherboard failure.

if it is not present on external screen then it most likely needs a new lcd.
