Question about Philips 42PF9631D 42 in. Plasma Television
When I am watching TV for a little while it turns off by itself. A red light will come on in the bottom right hand corner of the TV. If I unplug the set it will work again for a few minutes. Any suggestions?
Sounds like a bad solder connection on power supply board. Remove the back, turn on the set, using the handle of a screwdriver tap the power supply board and see if it shuts down. The power board is the one attached to the power cord. If it does shut down, UNPLUG the set, remove the power supply, inspect the bottom of the board and look at all solder connections with a magnifing glass. Look for any dark rings around solder connections, and resolder with fluxed 60/40 solder. firstname.lastname@example.org
