Canon DR-7580 error A10. It will not accept documents and makes a noise like an old printer. I checked the rollers, the front few rows on the base seem fine, but from the third row back, all the rollers are locked. The back of the case is dented and looks like it was dropped.
Can I do anything with it or is it only good for parts?

As per the manual it is "In the event of a pick-up error, the document
was fed to the front registration sensors." Clean all the Sensors and try. Use isoproyl alcohol only.
You cannot swap upper and lower images. You can scan the page twice (in duplex mode) by reversing the same. Ensure which side is giving perfect output.
DR 7580 is a CONTACT scanner and hence the paper has to touch the glass surface properly. There are two full sized rollers, just above/below the scanning module, which does this job. Ensure that they are proper and there is enough pressure, press and release 3-4 times to check it is stuck.

E30 is a Error related to Exhaust Fan. Pls check if the Fan is working, replace if required. If the scanner was used in a dusty environment, the dust can clog the free movement of the blades. It may require cleaning.

The rollers slip if a) the document is slippery or dirty, b) if they are unclean after usage or c) if there is hardware problem.
Try scanning a set of clean sheets, clean the rollers with a damp cloth thoroughly (no solvents pls). Get QUMA tool and check if the rollers are working independently.

Check if you have selected 'multipage' option. Then you will get only a single file, but with multiple pages.
If your question is that the second or subsequent pages are not pulled in for scanning, then you need to change the rubber rollers.

It's not really an issue with the scanner. The scanner will pick up the image and convert it to whatever you want, but your backend software is what you'll need to mess with for this. Any form recognition software will work (Form Storm, ABBYY FormReader, etc.)
Try cleaning the rollers if that doesn't work, remove all of the rollers (feed seperator and retard) then simply reinstall them. This fixed the errors we had.
