Frigidaire refridgerator Model #FRT16CRH, how to clean freezer insulation
While I was out of town there was an extended power outage and my refridgerator completely thawed, the contents rotted and mold covered all. The mess drained out of the doors on to the floor. I got the whole thing cleaned, but can't figure out how to get to the insulated area between the fridge part and the upper freezer part. I really want to clean that area.

That part is the hart of the unit and more trouble than you want to get into. i do not suggest that you try and take it apart, you could really mess things up, would be very unlikely that anything got between there anyway

I had a similar problem also after a power outage, I called best buy for service and 200 bucks later it was a no go, same problem. I found a repair manual on the online auction place E b a y and was able to troubleshoot down to a faulty relay on the PCB, look there for the manual it may help you. I is not the compressor cause then the freezer would not work also.
Your refrigerator has a defrost timer and it may not be going into defrost every 8 to 10 hours. I was not able to get a picture for you of the location, but look inside the fresh food compartment and inside the teperature control panel should have a hole with sometimes a plastic plug stuck in it. If not there it will be under the kick plate at bottom of fridge. Take a flat head screwdriver and slowly turn to the right until refrigerator stops running. After about 30 minutes if it does not restart, star by again turning slowly clockwise until it starts. Let me know what you find, Thanks, Sea Breeze
This is a problem that the factory has released a bulletin on.They have released new hinges, and insulation for inside the door. So far I've only seen the bulletin for Kenmore upright freezers made by Frigidaire. Since it is a Kenmore the bulletin is a Sears Service Flash but the units are identical. For sears its SF46-517. They may extend the service to Frigidaire units but you'll have to contact Frigidaire about that.
my refridgerator is not getting cold but the freezer seems to be working fine. can anybody please give me some advice on what this could be. We had a new defrost element put in a few weeks ago and we now have moved house so fridge is cool but not really cold enough model E402B any help would be appreciated.
Change out the temperature controller ie thermostat with one that will go to -40 degrees. This will be very ******* the compressor and may even cause the comporessor to run continuously and that's not what they are designed to do.
