Question about Sony Televison & Video
Assuming the 2 TV's are the same model, and you are the same distance and angle from each well testing, also your battery's are good.
It would mean the IR (infrared) receiver module in the TV is bad.
Cheap fix if you take the TV some where to be fixed. If you know someone who is comfortable taking the TV apart, you get the module cheap online (under $10) and would be simple to replace.
