Camcorder in safe mode and eject button doesnt work

I was just given this camcorder and was told if i can fix it i can have it... it keeps going into safe mode after being on for a few seconds, on top of that my eject button doesnt work but i believe that is where it is stuck in safe mode. I was not given a manual with it either and cant find one on the internet.
