Formatting errors on 2 memory cards - old 1gb & new 4gb micro sd sandisk

Hi there, I'm having problems with formatting these cards on both my laptop and phone (nokia E65).. When attempting it on the phone it tells me both cards are corrupted and on the laptop the 1gb card cannot be accessed (think this has probably had it after previous problem with another adapter). When attempting to format the new 4gb card it requests the card to be formatted then tells me theres no card in the drive?

4gb sd card not format problam format uncomplet

I'm assuming you are having a problem formatting the memory card?

The soultion would be to connect it to a PC or laptop that has a card reader installed, then format the card via Windows.

If it is a micro SD card, you may need an adapter to convert it to a SD card.

Thanks,

Hello. I have installed the sandisk sd 4Gb card into the slot in my lg pop but the phone does not see it. do I nee to do something? many thanks

You may need to format the memory card first before you can use it. Refer to the packaging and documentation of the memory card, or refer to your phone's manual regarding using SD cards. You may be able to format the card while it is in your phone, or you may have to insert it into the adapter and plug it into a computer to format it. The following link has walkthroughs of both methods of formatting an SD card:

My 1GB micro SD memory card needs formatting. But, when I am formatting it fails. ?What should I do?

Try formatting it in another device such as another card reader with another PC or formatting it in a digital camera

If that doesnt work, its likely the card is dead

2GB Micro SD needs format code that I never gave it

Hello,

You can format your micro-SD Card using a software which you can download by clicking this link. I uploaded it to my FTP site for you and it will be there for a limited time. Download that file and save it to your PC. Then unzip that ".zip" file.

If you format micro SD card connecting it to your PC via USB port, it may not ask for password. (I think your phone asks password to format.)

To format your micro-sd card:

- First plug in your micro-sd card into you PC.

- Run the downloaded "HPUSBFW_2.2.3_MASTER.exe" file.

- In the program menu window, select the device (your memory card).

- Select FAT32 as file system,

- Confirm that all the format options unchecked. (Uncheck the quick format option)

- And click the "Start" button to begin formatting.

Hope this helps you.

Try doing a complete formatting again.

If that does not work, delete partition and try doing formatting with a tool like the one below.
If the software below does not fix the problem, then replace the card.

Having problem formatting my 4GB micro sd card

The best option is to buy a USB reader for SD cards. You can buy one at walmart, target, staples, office max, or anywhere that sells hardware. That will make it so it will read it like a USB and not like a card. They are fairly cheap as well. 5-10$?
