Your refilled hp 74 will not register as full after you do a refill.
You will have to remove some ink out of the ink cartridge.
There is a special clip that can be purchase to do this.
You could just leave the cartridge in overnight for the ink to reach the bottom.
The ink cartridge will then be able to print.

I have a hp photosmart C5580 that after accepting generic ink cartridges all of a sudden won't accept them. They were working 24 hours ago. How can I get it to accept them. I can't afford the HP ones...

When you say generic cartridges, are you referring to 'compatibles' that you purchased on-line? If so, you are rolling the dice with those since often they can easily suffer internal micro-electronic malfunctions - sorry no money back guarantee with those. It is suggested you purchase new HP OEM (genuine) cartridges, use them and then go get them refilled at either Costco (most USA/Canada locations) or Fry's Electronics (all locations)...you'll save ~50% on the cost when refilling. Anything goes wrong you can bring them back. :-)

With respect to your current 'generic' cartridge problem, you can validate the HP74/75 cartridge's electrical health by running the 'Tap 41' diagnostics test report. Refer to video procedure on how to activate and read the service test report for your C5580 printer: http://inkjet411.com/?page_id=536

1. Load Letter/A4-size paper into paper feed tray.
2. If any lights are blinking, first press Cancel to attempt to clear.
3. Press and HOLD the Cancel button, press Ok button once.
4. At 'Mfg Commands' menu, click Right Arrow once until 'uiaux service' menu is displayed.
5. At 'uiaux service' menu, click the Right Arrow until Special Reports menu is displayed.
6. Select Ok, then click Right Arrow until the 'print-mech button tap' menu is displayed.
7. Select Ok (Code = 0 will be displayed); click and hold Right Arrow until 'code = 41' is displayed. Use the Left Arrow if you need to decrease numerical count.
8. Select Ok. Within one minute the Tap 41 diagnostic test report should be initiated and print (whether ink cartridges are good or not, i.e. this is a forced print test). See following 4 paragraphs (or video) on how to interpret diagnostic report.....

--- Providing the color cartridge is partially functioning the Tap 41 diagnostic test print will be printed (this is a forced service print test which is mainly used for the evaluation of ink cartridge electrical health). A good HP 75/75XL color cartridge should display 600 good nozzles, while a good HP 74/74XL black ink cartridge should show 672 good nozzles. If the results yield anything different then the ink cartridge is likely damaged and will need to be replaced. Refer to video on how to read the printout.

Will lexmark 17 black inkt cartridge and a lexmark 27 color ink cartridge fit in a hp photosmart c4280 all in one printer and work properly?

Negative, but you may want to think about refilling your HP74/75 ink cartridges for your HP PS C4280 printer....it's actually quite affordable.

How can I refill lexmark s405 cartridge and get printer to show full level?

Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled/remanufactured cartridges. These tend to degrade print quality and printer/cartridge performance.
Note that when a cartridge is refilled, it can no longer register its ink level.

I refilled my cartridge for x2650, its full, but doesn't print I refilled my cartridge with ink myself that i bought from Argos, now it is full of ink, but still shows the message that i must replace...

Please note that Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled cartridges. Refilled cartridges tend to degrade in print quality and performance.
You may try to re-seat the cartridge and make sure it's properly seated in the cartridge carrier. Also note that once a cartridge is refilled, it can no longer register its ink level.

I replaced the black ink with a full refill and my printer won't print anything at all. It is telling me that the cartridge is full. What can I do?

You need to use only cartridge brother original,if you use refill cartridge the printer is not printing. You need to replace the print head of the printer because you use refill cartridges. In the future use only genuine Brother cartridges. If a have been useful please give me a vote :)

Coloured ink not registering

You can only refill those cartridges if you do it before the ink is empty. After that you need a new cartridge or a chip resetter to reset the chip on the cartridge so it will work again.

Recalibrating a refilled black ink cartridge for a photosmart 7960

your printer probably cannot recognize one of both cartridges
clean the contacts of the cartridges and the contacts of the cartridge carrier  with a wet towel
if that does nt work your ink cartridge has probably overheated  because air has left in the cartridge after refilling and must be replaced
check here the right way for refilling

Lined printing in black ink

We get that problem w/ refilled cartridges. There is probably a very big clog in the nozzles. If you're using virgin OEM cartridges then you should complain about it. But if its refilled cartridges you will have to do a lot of work on it to clear up the nozzles. I don't suggest you do it manually as it will take a day or so just for one cartridge. Hope this helps.

Ink cartridge light keeps blinking

you need to print only in black if that is all the ink you have, and also you need to remove the color cartridge as it still registers in the printer as able to be used, although it is empty or near so. Did you remove the tape over the print head fron the new ink cartridge? Do a print head alignment, or use the toolbox icon to tell the printer that you just replaced the cartridge. Some HP models chip the ink cartridges so even a refill wont register as a full tank and the printer wont print. chip needs to be reset (difficult) or just replaced with a new cartridge.

Flashing ink refill light

Sometimes refilling them over and over doesn't work well. Once ok...but i suggest that you buy a new cartridge. I know that they are expensive but it will help. Also take some Rubbing alchohol and a q-tip...clean inside where the cartridge sits..that will help...this is for sure a bad ink cartridge
