Question about HP J4680 Office Jet All-In-One Printer

I have had the printer for just over a year and have to download the software three times because of problems. Now, once again I am getting a signal that there is an error in printing and it will not print. I have tried your online help and the signal tells me there is a connection problem. Not so. I have no problem with the connection. The wireless signal is also very strong. It has cost me a fee for over the phone assistance to solve the previous problems. Adding up to more than the cost of the printer. How do I get some personal customer service from HP to solve my problem?

    the message I get is Connectivity problem. I check the cable a dozen times and install the usb cable, I turn the printer on and off a dozen times and the problem still remains the same. what should I do?

DO NOT buy a KODAK printer. It is pure **** but worse is the service you'll get from Kodak when you run into a problem.

Their service or lack of service makes me wonder if KODAK isn't about to go into receivership. There is such a desperate tone to their way of doing business these days it makes you wonder.

I've owned all HP printers at home and at work and NEVER had a problem with one of them.

The Koday 5500 displayed a printhead error the same day I purchased it and the issue hasn't gone away.

Installed lexmark software for printer and no toolbar.


Most, probably, it was not installed properly. You need to run the software again. If you have the installation cd, insert it again in your computer. Once it starts running, continue like you're installing it for the first time. It should give you three options: Install a Printer, Update/Upgrade, and Install Additional Softwares. Choose Install Additional Softwares and hit Continue. On the next page, place a checkmark in Lexmark toolbar and continue and finish the installation. You should have Lexmark in one of the toolbars now. If not, place/make a comment so I can get back to this.

HP Solution Center hasn't appeared on my laptop


Hi, If you have downloaded the software for your printer from its manufacturer's website, then its okay, otherwise I will recommend you to download the drive once again from the link provided below.

Once you have the required software, run it once again because we need to remove the installed printer along with all its associated software from computer. So follow the HP setup wizard and uninstall the printer and restart the computer as asked at the end of the uninstallation process. Now when your computer is up and running, keep your computer detached from your computer and run the installation process once again with the downloaded HP software. Follow the wizard once again and install entire software. This time you will be able to use the HP Solution Center. The essence of the whole story is that HP software must be uninstalled and reinstalled using its own software otherwise there are chances when some of the key feature will now work.
Alternatively you can open mspaint.exe (Paintbrush) on your computer and click on File -> Scanner and camera -> select your printer and scanner model from the list and scan the document using it. You can then save the scanned image from the Paintbrush as well.

Two year old tom tom xl can take up to 15mins to get a signal any advice


The TomTom device needs to tune in on three or more GPS satelites to find your position. On start, it scans the hemisphere for any satelites and ten minutes and more are not uncommon to establish fixes on them.

The solution is a data package you can download from TomTom servers via the Home software, "QuickGPSFix". It holds precomputed satelite positions for the next few days which speeds up locking to satelites to a few seconds from minutes. However, you need to update the package roughly once a week or the initial delay will pop up again.

The only other thing I can think of is that in some instances security software may prevent the printer software from proper installation. I would try:

1) Uninstall the software, and delete the printer again.

2) Reboot.

3) Redownload the driver (epson13403.exe) or go ahead and download the full driver/utility package (epson13405.exe). Here is the link:
Stylus Photo 1400 Downloads Use the Save option...NOT RUN. Save the file to your desktop.

4) Disconnect from the internet. Disable your antivirus software and your firewall. (Of course you will probably get warnings here. That's OK.)

5) Make sure your printer is ON and the USB cable is NOT connected.

6) Run (double-click) the file you downloaded to install the software. Connect the printer when prompted. If you should get a request during software install to go online to get latest software, cancel it.

7) Once you do a test print, re-enable your security software. Reconnect to the internet.


Should that not work.....Repeat the steps above but when you reboot, press F8 and boot into Safe Mode with Networking.

I'm posting this as a solution, so I am hoping for the best.

After using the scan for the first time now the printer wont work,says printer needs to be found ,and memory may be full

:u havent installed the software properly
:just download the software using the hp software cd once again
;if it shows its already downloaded or instaled then do add a device

Lowrance 330c screen says '' boot failed''


Try a hard reset:

1. Turn the LMS-330 off
2. Press and hold the ZIN, ZOUT, and PWR buttons
3. Release the three buttons once you see the "warning, do not rely..." message appear

If you get that far, the problem is solved. If you get boot failed again, try installing the latest update which can be downloaded from http://www.lowrance.com/en/Downloads/Product-Software-Updates/

If you still get boot failed, you will need to get the LMS-330 repaired/replaced. You can contact Lowrance support at 800-324-1356 or email them by going to http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Product-Support/Contact/

Installation Problem


Does the printer work?
ie can you do a test print via printer keypad??
Is printer "online"

Have you tried different usb cable and port?

Have you unistalled previous driver and the software package before installing complete new downloaded software and driver package from hp to suit

We know how tiring it is dealing with people and their little printers buy a new one or pay someone else to do it for you if it's too hard.

Now you know why they can be too expensive to fix due to time it can take to even diagnose any posible faults.
