I'm talking about the Toshiba D-KR4OKU DVD Recorder

  • reeldifferen Sep 14, 2010

Actually I did. The machine did finalize by itself. Should I do something else?
    Thanks.

  • reeldifferen Sep 14, 2010

I finally was able to play the DVD on my iMac.
    Thank you for your help!

Hello,

this is happening maybe because you did not finalize after recording. You don't allow a recording to finalize, it might not play on other player.

Good luck.

    Hello again,

since the disc was finalized, another cause of the problem could be the type of disc. Maybe the type of disc you recorded is not compatible with the other players.

I hope you are aware that empty DVD's has DVD+R and DVD-R.

    Cross check this.

    Good luck.

Hello and thank you again. I am using a DVD-RW disk and it plays back "Only" in the machine I recorded it. it won't play in another machine or on my iMac (I am trying to transfer old family movies to edit on my iMac)...this is frustrating.

    Hi,

test the recorded disc on a computer system and observe if it will play. Of course it should play.

If it plays, maybe you can copy the recorded files on your computer, then burn from your computer this time around.

I think the Toshiba recorder is the cause of the problem. Maybe its recorded discs with is not compatible with other player and your iMac.

You have to use another alternative to burn the disc.

    Take care.

My Samsung DVD/VHS recorder the DVD won't close after playing DVD

Never force it, just use the remote.
If it won't stay in, unplug the unit and wait a while.
I think we get viruses from the TV signal which might be temporary (hopefully).

I downloaded a movie on my computer and burned it to a DVD disc. I can play it back on my computer and other DVD players but not this one. I get a message '' No Disc''. Can you help?

The MVD2027 has a bit of a reputation for being really picky about which discs it will play. It's often especially poor with recordable DVD's, and especially with rewritable discs. This kind of behaviour can also be an early sign of a failing laser head assembly.

All you can do is to try the movie recorded onto different brands of recordable dvd and also see whether it makes any difference using DVD+R or DVD-R. Other than that, there's nothing else you can do.

Make sure that you finalize the disc when recording is finished, also some DVD players prefer DVD +R

If you are trying to play blue ray on this unit you are out of luck no amount of firmware will make it play something it is not capable of doing.

Region code 4 on Samsung DVD-VR355 player/recorder

I live in Australia and have two Samsung DVD/VCR player recorders, DVD-VR375 and DVD-VR355. I could only play Region 4 DVDs until I pressed DVD, with no DVD in the units, pressed Menu then 76884, then 9, inserted a Region 1 DVd and it played in both units.

Daewoo DVRS05 Recorded DVD won't play in OTHER DVD players

my suggestion from reading other forums is that these players sometimes have problems finalizing the disc.. you could try making a copy of the disc in a computer to see if this fixes the promlem or maybe media these use dvd+r and has a lot of compatibility issues with dvd players.
