Your mouse is very likely broken. either you buy or borrow from anywho then try it, if it works then you definitely need to replace it.
usually the minor problems I would go to Fry's repairing dept. ask for free test, and promise if it is broken I will buy there.
in the beginning I just took a new one and went there if only if the problem solved I bought it right away, if not I returned without any problem.

You are missing the OS.
If you have the restore CD's, use them to restore your Dell to original state, or you can order a set from Dell.
If you do not have a restore CD's you can also boot with a Windows CD and install the OS but you will have to go to the Dell website and download the drivers for your model.
I hope this helped.
Good luck and have a pleasent day.

My mouse disappeared on my hp 9925 screen i did a hard reset now the whole screen is black

If you power on and see the HP bios boot screen, the HP symbol, then the screen goes black, try pushing the F10 or F12 keys when you power on and select boot in safe mode. If the computer boots and you can see everything, power down and see if it will boot correctly to regular Windows. If you can not boot to a screen that you can see in safe mode you have a much larger problem and need to get a technician to look at the laptop to find the problem.

Is it black all the time? From when you start your computer to when you turn it off?

Sounds like the backlight is bad.

Can't get past black screen and mouse

Power off your computer, then power on hitting F12, del or whichever key it states to go into setup. From the setup menu, select change boot order or boot menu. Set the CD ROM to the first boot device. Save changes. Restart. Your computer should boot to cd starting the installation.

Dell m992 screen problems

If you notice, when you see the windows start screen, its usually "big and dopey". Thats because the video drivers aren't being used yet. If it is blanking out right after you see that screen (with the scrolling bar), my guess is it's a corrupt / bad video driver.

Was any other hardware added recently?
