Whirlpool Cabrio tub bearing is going out. Repair man said you have to replace tub and bearing together. Is this a fact, or is it possible to replace the bearing separately?

SOURCE: a marble or a bearing is rolling behind the drum

The lowes salesperson is wrong ,,, it wont destroy anything it will just be bad noise till it falls into the lower tub and then into the pump filter where you can unscrew the cap on the pump and take it out ,,, to get it out b4 then you have to pull the top, outer panel then get to the tub and on that style you have to take the complete tub out and take it apart to remove it and then replace the spit seal and reinstall ,,, it would cost anywhere from 300-400.00 to remove the marble so best best is to let it go thru its course till it drops out / i have done the repairs on those machines so i know what it would take to do it ,,,,, sorry but thats the best and cheapest / larryyb

SOURCE: sock stuck in outer tub whirlpool cabrio

youll need to "pop" the main top.. then unsnap the outer ring that cvers the outer tub. if you look at the center of "agitator/ or bump plate depending on model" theres a small cap that will come of fand reveal a 7/16 screw remove the screw, and then oyull be able to lift the entire inner basket right out to retrieve any debris.

SOURCE: 5 month old Whirlpool Cabrio washer has moldy

Smelly washers are common. Cabrio washers are HE and therefore use less water. By using less water, it doesn't rinse ITSELF as good as an older non-efficient machine. Things you can do to solve the problem. Buy a cleaner from Whirlpool called Affresh. It's 3 tablets that you throw in the washer without clothes and run it on the longest heavy duty cycle possible. Use the hot water setting and the longest duration. For existing smells use all 3 tablets. Then use 1 tablet every month to prevent reoccurring odors. You can also try the same type of cycle on hot water with a half of a gallon of bleach in the tub, or try it with a half of a gallon of vinegar. One of the 3 should do the trick.

Oil spitting out from bottom of cabrio washer

You can call Sear Part or Google the bearing kit W10435302 and the tool W10447783. For me the easiest way is to buy a new outer tub with the price far less cheap than the tool and bearing add together. Here the link

I have a Whirlpool Cabrio top loader that makes too much noise during the spin cycle. I think it is the bearings for the tub. Is there a way to crease them and or replace them?

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

Based on your post I understand you've got a noise in your Cabrio washer and I'm pretty sure I know what you're referring to and in fact it appears you know as well.

I can explain what needs to be done to gain access and repair it...but you should inquire about warranty. (you will likely require a proof of purchase and your owners manual)

**I'd suggest contacting your local Whirlpool service/warranty provider as these have a five to ten year (parts only...check your owners manual for confirmation) warranty on the tub and bearing components**

If you choose to not go that route, it is pretty involved but I should be able to assist you and provide images as to how and what to do. (via removing the's pretty easy once you see how).

It is most likely the spin basket bearing (more of a sleeve actually) and consequently the seal under (spin basket) and it is a non-serviceable part outside of replacing the complete inner and outer tub assembly.

I can guide you step by step on "how to" both access this and repair it, or I can send you a complete service manual for your washer, it's up to you.

Whatever you think will best serve you. You will need to provide an email address so we can arrange it and I can attach the "pdf" service manual to if you decide you indeed want it.

I'll watch for your post and we can go from there. Thank's for choosing and visiting FixYa today. Good luck.

My Whirlpool Cabrio sounds like a jet engine while in the spin cycle

believe the bearings can be bought locally, but water seal has a Whirlpool number on it that will not come up on pricelist on my Whirlpool program.I am looking for a way to cross ref. this seal and repair the tub.The last tub was over 197.00 cost for new tub and drive shaft ,bearings and seal. The bearings are Korean made and can be bought locally for alot less than a whole new tub. This is an ongoing problem with the Cabrios and Maytag Bravos that I have seen lately. Also a few of the Sears Kemores out there. There has to be an easier and cheaper repair for these thousand dollar machines.I dont like telling the customer its going to cost them 400.00 to repair their washer when it is not even a year out of warrentee. If anyone has the seal number or a cross number please post

Whirlpool Cabrio Leaks Water

Good luck. Mine did the same and they sent their technicians out to fix the problem. A&E comes out and replaces the tub ring. They told me the washer is now made with the tub ring in place. When he opened the washer up I noticed I now have rust inside my washer. I have spent a month trying to get Whirlpool to replace my washer but they will only replace parts. A&E came out to replace the tub ring and now my door creaks and my washer does not go back together correctly. Hopefully you can justreturn the washer to where you got it. Read other reviews on line. It sounds like this washer is a lemon. Sorry!
