The lowes salesperson is wrong ,,, it wont destroy anything it will just be bad noise till it falls into the lower tub and then into the pump filter where you can unscrew the cap on the pump and take it out ,,, to get it out b4 then you have to pull the top, outer panel then get to the tub and on that style you have to take the complete tub out and take it apart to remove it and then replace the spit seal and reinstall ,,, it would cost anywhere from 300-400.00 to remove the marble so best best is to let it go thru its course till it drops out / i have done the repairs on those machines so i know what it would take to do it ,,,,, sorry but thats the best and cheapest / larryyb

youll need to "pop" the main top.. then unsnap the outer ring that cvers the outer tub. if you look at the center of "agitator/ or bump plate depending on model" theres a small cap that will come of fand reveal a 7/16 screw remove the screw, and then oyull be able to lift the entire inner basket right out to retrieve any debris.

Smelly washers are common. Cabrio washers are HE and therefore use less water. By using less water, it doesn't rinse ITSELF as good as an older non-efficient machine. Things you can do to solve the problem. Buy a cleaner from Whirlpool called Affresh. It's 3 tablets that you throw in the washer without clothes and run it on the longest heavy duty cycle possible. Use the hot water setting and the longest duration. For existing smells use all 3 tablets. Then use 1 tablet every month to prevent reoccurring odors. You can also try the same type of cycle on hot water with a half of a gallon of bleach in the tub, or try it with a half of a gallon of vinegar. One of the 3 should do the trick.

Bearing cost about $450.00 plus labor. Major job. Better looking for a new washer. Sears outlet sell good washer at cheaper price.
