I believe, whenever you put new batteries in wii-motes, you have to sync them back to the console.

To sync: press the red button on the console (under the front flap). Then, press the red button on the wii-mote (in the battery compartment)

hope i helped!

Remotes won't connect. put in new batteries, tried pressing red button in side remotes, all 4 blue lights are flashing on both remotes

Hello kellyanne_ma,
The Wii must be searching for remotes before one will connect. If you are trying to connect controller #1 (meaning there are none connected) and it fails, there may be a problem with your Wii.
First, remove power from the Wii by unplugging it. Wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Once powered on and you see the health/safety information press and hold the red SYNC button on your Wii for 20 seconds.
Now press the Sync button on the controller and while the blue lights are flashing, press the Sync button on the Wii.
Hopefully, that will connect the controller! If it does not, you may need to contact Nintendo!

The Wii console keeps losing communication with my Wii remote controller, what can I do

Have you put new batteries in the controller lately? If not that is usually what happens to mine when it is going out.
The other possibility is that the batteries are not in there all the way so the connection keeps dropping make sure there is nothing underneath the batteries in the remote.

I put new batteries in, all four light flash four times and then it shuts down.I pushed the little red button next to the batteries and all four lights flash fout times and then shut down. Can this be...

What shuts down? The Wii Remote?

If so, sounds like they need to be synced to the Wii. When the controller looks for a connection and doesn't find it, they will shut down to save battery life.

You need to turn on the Wii with the Wii Remote [press power button on the Wii remote that is working] then click into the Wii Menu by clicking the HOME button on the Wii remote. You will then click to Wii Remote Settings. From there, click RECONNECT on the Connection menu. That will instruct you to press 1 & 2 on each remote to sync them.

For more information, click to the following NINTENDO website which tells you everything you need to know that you've asked:

My wii remote won't connect to my friends wii but connects to mine just fine

You will need to resync the remote back to your wii. Take off the battery cover and open up the flap on the front where you put a memory card in. Push the red button by where the batteries go on the wii remote and the red button above where the memroy card slot is, both the wii and wii remote should flash and eventually the first light on the bottom of the wii remote should flash indicating a successful sync.

Wii remote will not work new batteries just blink all

Hey Jack, How many remotes are you able to connect at a time? If you have multiple remotes try turning the ones you know that work off, and putting them in another room(so you know they will not try to connect). Then try connecting with the bad one. If that doesn't work you might have to sync the remote: hold down the red sync button on the wii, located next to the sd card slot, while holding down the red button on the remote, located under the battery cover on the back. Now try connecting. If it still doesn't work, the LED lights in the sensor bar might have burned out, this happens a lot when you keep your sensor bar directly on your tv without the stand(the tv gets hot and burns out the lights), a lot of people do this because the stand looks bad. Go buy a new sensor bar, they sell them at wal-mart for $20, plus they're wireless, so you don't have to worry about that thin little wire popping. Test the new wii bar, if it's still not working, then you're remote is just worthy of getting returned.
hope this helps! -cj
