Hello.

It's probably a waste absorber issue.

A fix from FixYa Support:

  1. Start with printer off
  2. Press and hold resume Button (triangle in the circle) and click "Power" button. Green led should be on
  3. While holding the Power button, release the Resume Button.
  4. Without releasing the Power Button, click "Resume" button for two times and release Both Buttons.
  5. Click "Resume" for four times then soon click "Power" button, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber).
  6. Turn off the printer and turn on again

Hope this helps.

    Merci pour cette excellente solution
Voici la même chose en français !!
    1. Commencer avec l’imprimante éteinte
    6. Éteindre l’imprimante puis la rallumer

Any error that reads "6C10" while using a Canon printer most likely has to do with the upgrade of the operating system on the user's computer, most notably, when the user upgrades from Windows XP to Windows 7. If it is a hardware issue, the user should consider taking the printer to a technician. However, another possibility is that the drivers are not installed properly on the computer. Problems with the cartridges can also cause this error code. The user should consider removing the cartridges and then replacing them again, ensuring that they are properly installed. Most likely, because of the transition between operating systems, i.e. from Windows XP to Windows 7, there are drivers that are not compatible or are simply missing. The best advice is to visit the manufacturer's website and install all the latest drivers.

It wont print

Double check that the error isn't 6C10. I also thought I had an 8C10 error also and that's how I found your unanswered question! But I couldn't find any other internet reference to 8C10 but I did find a YouTube fix for a 6C10 error message. So I got my reading glasses and looked again. Sure enough it was a 6C10 error! I followed the instructions for the 6C10 error fix (resetting Ink Absorber Reset) and my printer is now functioning. Bonus note: My printer is a MP620 and the reset was for a MP550. Same error number though! and also same solution. By now your printer has probably crossed that printer rainbow bridge... but hopefully someone else will need your help? With my reset, I am going to run my $$$ ink cartridges out instead of maintenancing the absorber and then toss mine as well!

I'm not really sure what "surendrapell" was trying to say here, but the following expert "pineworks" on fixya resolved this problem for me completely.

Here is the link: http://www.fixya.com/support/t4097826-aborber_full_error_message

I had this same problem, too, and tried to fix it for about three months and couldn't. I had to keep restarting and unplugging the printer, over and over... then back to Error 6C10 again. I finally found this suggestion by "pineworks" that has resolved this completely for me. Hope this helps someone else:
