Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies
Error 5100 means cartridge error. The printer detected no cartridge installed in the printer.
The most common solution is to inspect the surface contact of the cartridge. make sure the plastic strips that protects the contact is already remove. Or if there is dirt and or corrosion in the surface contact remove it with cotton moistened with alcohol.
For some units printer reset will fix the problem.
Tell me the model of your printer so I can give you the exact reset procedure.
