I recently bought a stainless steel Salton microwave, but when I got it home I noticed a peculiar chemical smell on it's surface and inside. I'm not sure what it is, but my sinuses don't like it at all. Should I be concerned about this problem? Will it taint foods or beverages that I put in the microwave? Do you have any suggestions for eliminating the odor?

It's probably normal, but you might visit your dealer and check another one and even another model or brand to see if they have the same odor.
