Id like to use My polycom VSX5000 just as webcam and audio with skype. I dont have ISDN. Just needed to plug in to a computer and use the camera and its audio. Is it possible?

Click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down image devices you could see a yellow question mark? right click to reinstall drivers or update driver Open skype go to tools from the drop down list select options scroll to audio settings you can make a free test call before you try to make a call make sure the microphone is using the same as your computers audio You can make a free test call if you cant get the microphone to work you can select learn about setting up your audio equipment also Click start control panel sounds and audio devices audio and also voice its the same make sure that you have the right default microphone selected you should be able scroll to video settings to make sure you have the right settings Open skype go to tools options scroll to audio settings or video settings on the right you will see webcam setting you can change the settings from there click apply after changing any settings also you can see the webcam there you can even take a snapsot also make sure your settings are correct for a video call also Click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick also Select audio from the microphone drop down list make sure you have the right one selected and in the volume box make sure the microphone box has a tick in it or select the voice tab and make sure that you have the right media selected also select volume make sure the box for microphone has a tick in it Hope this helps. connect your phone to the internet download skype for mobile phones

i would suggest you make a log of your skype id and password either on a note pad or a removable usb drive incase of any memory lapses

Can you use a polycom vsx aptz-2p camera with an hdx 8000

Please confirm if you have made video call or audio call. There is an option in the called basic mode, if it is enabled then disable and check. ckeck with service provider for the bonding option. Last option you can try SW upgrade

that is not the solution, the camera only with polycm pvx application.

Disconnectthe Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded softwareprogram. When the program asks you to connect the camera to theUSB port, do so and it should work.
Then to use it on the Web, do this.
Web Camera’s have to besetup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the cameraon your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order forthe Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/) set it up as follows:

1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
2. Then click on the Video Settings.
3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.

The camera and audio should function properly. Yourfriends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.

B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html) set it up as follows:

1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.

Normal 0 After you install Skype and have it operational with your ID. Go to "TOOLS", click on "OPTIONS," Then go to "Audio Settings" and click on it. Make sure both the Microphone and Speaker's are correctly chosen. Then "make a free test call." Wait till the voice tells you to record. Then when finished talking wait for the test persons voice to insure your audio transmission is working. Then go back to options and test your video settings. Click on Video Settings and proceed to set up you video camera. Also, you can visit this site for additional information to setup video.

Then when you are in chat with soneone, you can turn your camera on from the Skype left panel. Look for start Video.

RMA it with your support provider

Try disconnecting the ISDN module and then cycling the power. If that doesn't work speak to your support provider about repair costs. Ultimately you may need to replace it because of its age (it might be End of Life and not available for repair)

Are you able to move the camera using the remote?
If not, then you may have a hardware issue.
If yes, then try to connect to the Viewstation (web interface) using its IP from a Computer.
