Replaced heating coil, checked breaker still no heat

It is not switching from cooling into heating. You probably need to have a service tech look at the unit. Sorry. It could be control board or stuck reversing valve.

most dryers are 220. its possible your breaker is half tripped. try cycling the breaker.. you should get 220 across it while its running. (Be careful).

You have either shorted the breaker or broken the coil. If you check the breaker first, save time. If that isn't it, and you need to replace the coil, be careful that you don't short the coil against the machine itself or you will end up in the same boat.

The stove top is internally wired separately from the oven. Check that you don't have a faulty circuit breaker in your breaker panel. The oven is 240V which has two breakers ganged together. If only one side trips you can loose power to the heating elements but still have power to the control board (to light up ON).

sounds like your heat coil element is shorted, this coil is in the inside behind the drum..

replace coil and this will solve your problem, the coils break , you get no heat but voltage goes to heat elem that is shorted, trips breaker

Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it electric heating elements aren't repairable.


On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse which is about an inch long is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it.

caused a short maybe ,reset circuit breaker and check 4 wire against frame

hi..you probably have a tripped electrical breaker.
check your breaker box first and reset any tripped
breakers.If that doesn't work,you may have to replace
the heating element.
