    Having the same problem.
    It worked fine the night before... then I tried it the next day, and nothing... it beeps but it doesn't come out, I don't hear any noise coming from the motor in it. I only can think of 3 random causes;
The heat (It got up to 35 degrees Celsius in the past few days)
The Bass (Got 2 Kicker L7's... and they pound... so may shake some screws loose)
or the motor just burned out...

I'm gunna switch it with another deck for now and try to send this one out for repairs.
I'll keep this posted if I found a solution...

Yah, I've run into the same issue. It will be working fine...then quit opening for months...then one day randomly open again. I have no idea why but hope someone has a suggestion.

You have to wire green to ground in order to have your screen open while driving, otherwise you have to pull the ebrake and it will open. Its made that way so that you dont drive with the screen open.

I have the same problem with my unit. there is a way to reset the screen so it starts to come out again as i have done it 3 times before. i forgot the exact method but it involves the "rear" "band" and "reset" buttons. i found this out through calling pioneer canada tech support and i will call them again on monday when they open.

Screen will not open

It seems the problem is the ribbon cable, the one that connects the screen to the main board.
There is a RECALL for this model from Pioneer.
my suggestion is to contact Pioneer and send it to them for repair at no charge.

Touch screen not responding correctly

have the avh 5700 should be close to the same unit. try holding the two center buttons on deck [boost and arrow button] i think then without releasing them push the reset button with a pen ,the screen will close then reopen now let go of buttons should be in the right menu on the first item dont trace the extreme edge come in a little then the second item on the menu screen is the touch section just touch the little plus button on screen if still off try tracing first screen little further from edge. this should fix problem

DUAL XDVD8181 car unit - motorized TFT screen won't come out!

Open it again and check the ribbon cable for cracks, the one that get drag in and out every time it open and close. Because it is a defect for Pioneer too, and Pioneer would replace it free. Goodluck.

Take and bench test it. Pioneer brand do that when the ribbon cable is cracked. It is the one that get drag in and out during open and close. Open it up and check that. Goodluck.

AVIC-N2 stopped working and wont stop flashing PLEASE HELP!

Sound like the ribbon cable because before breaking off completely the vibration of the engine can cause current to fade in and out(open and close circuit).
