Ge gas dryer heats but doesnt dry

if the flame is lighting you have lint blocking the air flow either in the dryer or in the vent line, also if you have a flame for the first 10 to 20 minutes and then the flame doesn't light you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, when the coils are bad they can work for the first 10 to 20 minutes until the coils get hot and then they fail and you'll see the ignitor glowing orange but no flame, bad gas coils.then when the coils cool down they can work again.hope this helps.you can try removing the vent line from the back of the dryer and see if the flame stays on,if lint is blocking the air from blowing out the flame won't stay lit long enough to dry the clothes.

The dryer is not heating up. Just blowing air. What do I do?

Gas dryers CLICK when the glowbar warms up the flame sensor to the point that the bimetal inside it bends. This insures the flame is lit. The flames stays on just long enough to warm the drum up to 160f. (for cotton) at which time the flame is shut down until the temp inside the drum drops to 105f when another blast of heat is applied by the control thermostat. If you hear the clicking then the ignitor is glowing AND the flame sensor is shutting it down. That means the thermal limit and control t-stat mounted on the blower housing is working. If that is the case then the coils are bad. Replace them.

Hi,

If your dryer is not drying like it once did or if you just have nottaken the time to give yourself a clean dryer in a long time then youneed to do that. At least once a year the dryer cleaning should takeplace. Lint build up in the dryer duct is one of the main causesfor your dryer to fail.

I would replace the solenoids. The gas valve is not fully opening. The glow bar may be failing but the coils on the valve are in need of replacing..

Dryer lights, heats up some but wont relite

Replace the coil packs on the gas valve this fixes 90% of gas dryers lighting intermittently. The bracket comes off and they are sold seperately from any appliance parts retailer.

This worked for my dryer.
