How do you get to the fuse in the dc28?

The 3-pin mains plug will have a plastic fuse holder which can be levered open with a small screwdriver. Look on the pin side of the plug. There will also be small writing on the plug to tell you which size of fuse is fitted to the plug. Replace with the same size of fuse. It is important to note that the fuse in the mains plug is only likely to blow if there is an electrical issue inside the machine, so replacing the fuse may just result in the fuse blowing again. If this happens then the vacuum needs proper checking and repair. DO NOT try using a bigger fuse, as you may cause more damage to the vacuum, or cable overheating or risk of electric shock.

Trouble with shark navigator roller

Sorry to tell you but Shark vacuum cleaners are poorly engineered and are disposable. They do not make parts available for repair. Throw it away and don't buy another bagless, chinese made vacuum. Buy a quality vac made in USA or Germany. Miele, Sebo, Riccar

Changing hepa filter

Remove the lid of the Dust Bin, and while holding it upside down in your hand, insert a philips screwdriver (this needs to be a medium screwdriver but with a long blade!) down through the centre of the actuating column. Hold the Filter Refresher knob (green) to prevent it from moving and undo the philips screw. The assembly will now come apart. Pull the actuating column out (the philips screw will remain in the column so don't loose it) The Filter Refresher knob will come away from the Lid. The Hepa Filter can now be removed and the replacement fitted. If the replacement filter is not supplied with a rubber gaskit use the gaskit from the old one..Re-assemble in reverse order.

Sebo brush staying down

Sounds like the controller microchip has become disconnected. You'll need to flip the SEBO over on its side and remove the floor head - to do this, kneel on the floor and press the release button below the main front bin to unlock the floor head from the main bin area. Putting one knee on the floor head might help as the lock might be still. This pulls the floor head apart from the main bin and user handle. Once unlocked, flip the head over and undo the 4 large screws (2 at the back and 2 near the front on either side) Once the floor head has become loose, ease it off slowly and you should see the microchip board. With the bumper in front of you look to your right hand side to check that the microchip thread has not been pulled out. Check that all points are pushed in correctly 0- you should download a parts and manual diagram from SEBO UK or SEBO Germany ( in English. This will show you the microchip board and the microchip connectors. Once checked, reverse process, fit screws back on with the floor head cover underneath and re assemble before switching back on. Hope it helps!

I need to replace the cord. There is a short near the housing.

hi may i suggest ? if you wish to renew the complete cord/wire? why not fit a longer length to facilitate more reach thro different rooms from the preferred wall socket ? the problem of short /breakage of wires within outer sleeve near casing is common on lots of vacs it is not a difficult job to replace if you are competant with wire and colour codes remove the access cover where wire enters vac then observe the attachment of each wire ? then disconnect faulty cable transfer the rubber tube that is normally fitted at entry point to vac at this point to new cable remove outer sleeve of new cable same length as old cable to reveal the inner wires then connect to vac sockets resecure cable to vac as previous dont forget the rubber tube? refit entry cover and fit a new 3 pin plug bs kite marked ? then away to vac the rooms? hope this helps
