Question about Sirius Stiletto 2 Portable Satellite Radio Receiver

SL10 - lock up

Since last Monday, my stilleto 10 has had trouble. After listenign to sirius for a few minutes, the radio will lock up and repeat one note before it reboots. I called sirius tech support who gave me a line about satelite upgrades that will take a few days to correct - not sure how much I believe them. It happend after I upgraded the software in the radio via my computer

Is this a radio problem that requires a replacement or is this something affecting the sirius network.

finally got a new service rep on the phone who tried to reactivate my radio. No luck. They are replacing the unit.

My stiletto 2 does this on occasion, seems completly random. When it reboots it works fine again except for some reason I keep losing the "love" songs I've recorded from the radio.

It turns on and after a very short time it locks up.. Sometimes it is silent other times it constantly repeats the same note. the only way to stop it or reset it is to remove the battery..

I had the same problem...... SL10 is overheating the BGA chip there is 2 of them so you need to open your radio and install some heatsink tape but if you listening at home just put a fan on it so it wont overheat .......................

How long does the battery life last on a stiletto 10 SL10PK1 of how long i can use it before i have to charge it again

My stilleto lasts about 1 hour, but it's been used for a while now. I would reccomend buying a new Li-Ion batery if you absolutely need long battery life.

Stilleto 2 keeps shutting down

It may be a problem with the power switch, I too had this problem. It seems like the power switch is stuck in "down" position as if you were holding it. I remove my battery cover (along with the battery) and gently jiggle the switch up and down to "loosen" whatever may be sticking it in place and it seems to work. I have encountered this problem several times. I did not send it out for repair. It works fine for me (knock on wood).

The antenna should plug into the Stilleto car kit if your Audi is equipped with Sirius already. Otherwise you will have to use another Sirius antenna.

I'm recieving a strong signal on my stiletto 2 but no sound on the radio. The MP3 player works with headphones and so does internet radio.

You need the firmware upgrade from the Sirius website:

Bug Fixes
· Reduced incidence of “acquiring signal” and “antenna not detected” messages
while the radio is installed in the Stiletto Vehicle dock (SLV2)
· Improved audio quality and distortion reduction
· Reduced incidence of long block recording and Radio Replay corruption
How to Get this Release
Updating over WiFi:
Subscribers may update Stiletto 2 over WiFi by following these steps:
1. Power cycle the Stiletto 2 by holding the power/lock switch down for 5 seconds
and releasing.
2. Turn on the Stiletto 2 and press the HOME button
3. Use the MEDIA DIAL to scroll to Internet Radio
4. Press the SELECT button to connect to Internet Radio
5. Tune to your favorite station and let it play for several hours.
6. Follow prompts on screen to complete the update, then power cycle your radio to
apply the updates.
7. Next go to HomeSettingsDeviceDevice info, if the baseband version is
already 00.14.94 you are done. If not, continue to the next step.
8. Reconnect to Internet Radio and listen for at least 15 minutes.
9. Disconnect, and tune to Satellite Radio. Updating Sirius will be displayed for
approximately 5 minutes.
10. Once the message clears, your update should be complete. Go to the Device
Info screen to verify the update has been successful.
Updating using My Sirius Studio™:
Customers without WiFi access may update using My Sirius Studio™ running on a PC

Please Note: During the update, your media library must be re-built. If you have a
large amount of content stored or a microSD™ card installed, the process can last
for as long as 10 minutes. During this time the message “updating media library” or
may be displayed.
6. After disconnecting from your PC it will be necessary to power cycle your Stiletto
and connect to Satellite Radio to refresh your channel list.

Sirius 10

THE battery MUST be charged with the correct charger. Assuming that is the case new batteries need to be cycled a few times before they come good...Also you MUST use the exact same spec battery in mAH. if you are using ni-cads they need to be fully discharged to a safe low level before recharging as they suffer from memory effect...ni-mh type the need to be charge cycled a few times before they come good. There are problems with all types of rechargable batteries...Makers have still not reached perfection..never leave a radio always connected
to the ac line , this will stagnate the battery/cells causing problems you must use your device on battery power in order to cycle the same. This is the main reason why laptop batteries have a short life.

Sirius Stilleto 100 skipping issue

Usually this is a signal issue and it happens when recording indoors mostly, right? The signal dropps but only for a second or two so when you look at it its fine. you've probably notived it cutting in and out when "live" from time to time. Use your signal meter built in to the device and find the strongest signal location. If that doesnt work or its not the problem, update the software. If that doesnt work try running the recovery software but only as a last resort because you'll lose your recordings.
SIRIUS Device Recovery (SDR) is a software application that helps you recover your Stiletto (SL2, SL100 or SL10) in the event of a complete system failure.
The SIRIUS Device Recovery program retrieves the latest version of software for your Stiletto from the Sirius website. NOTE: Performing device recovery WILL ERASE the entire contents on your Stiletto: all music, Sirius recordings, channel presets and any user preferences. The Stiletto will be reset to its original factory state. You can perform the revovery from the Sirius Studio software that came with your device or http://www.sirius.com/mysiriusstudio

Stiletto constantly powering off

Solution is downloading the sirius recovery software from sirius.com My radio would not connect to my computer because it would not fully turn on. disconnect the battery. Hold the DISPLAY and OPTIONS button on the radio face when reconnecting battery. Connect to PC and Sirius Recovery Program will pop up. Run program, takes approx 10 to 15 min and radio works good as new.
RUNNING PROGRAM WILL ERASE YOUR LIBRARY ON YOUR RADIO....
