Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
I am having the same exact problem. It is IPad's keeping the DHCP while in sleep mode. If you cold boot the IPad, the problem stops... albeit until you let it go into sleep mode again. As far as security (WEP?WPA, etc.) with the ICrap err.. Ipad, forget it. Your best best is to disable SSID broadcast and use ICrap's wireless to type in your SSID using a decent password type name for your SSID.

Hmm. Make sure you're typing the right password; you might want to change it on the router, then try it on the Apple device? Did you set your router to a "closed network" setting, i.e. without the name of the network you can't connect at all? If not, maybe you have your router restricted so that only approved devices can connect. If none of these appear to be the cause of the problem, unplug the router, plug it back in, and reboot your Apple device. If that doesn't help, I would talk to linksys.

The list of WiFi networks you'll see will include two kinds: public and private. Private networks have a lock icon next to them; Public don't. The bars next to each network indicate the strength of the connection - more bars means a faster connection.
To connect to a public network, just tap the network name and you'll be online.
