This is attached to satilite, I have HDMI conections, I was picking up 2 converters, they hit together then this happened, so not sure if I hit something on the receivers, both TV and Yamaha receiver where the converters.

What was going on when this happened? Can you please give me a little more info? Are you connected with a fiber optic cable? Do you have an HDMI cable from your blue ray player to the tv?

You may try to unplug everything and unplug the converters. Leave unplugged for about 10 minutes. Reconnect everything and see if this fixes your problem.

On the tv remote control you should have a button that says input or video. You should be able to press that button to change the input. And yes that is fine, you can let me know tomorrow. I hope this works for you. Good Luck!

My HTR 3063 is not producing any sound

The YPAO isn't on the 3063 model. only 4063 and up. If this is used and you can't get your money back, there is a firmware file here http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?language=en&site=ca.yamaha.com&product_id=1436250 that can help get your receiver running correctly.

There's not a lot of need for audio FROM the HTR to go TO a TV. Many of us have Monitors (no speakers) yet we survive.

BTW: Component Video IS HD.

TV/DVD surround sound through receiver

Try running digital audio from the source - cable/sat - to the receiver. The fewer intervening connections and entities, the better. TV's are NOT considered sound sources for high end purposes or we wouldn't have Yamaha HTR-5860's and better speakers, would we?

BD and DVR hooked up to the receiver and from the receiver to the TV right? If yes: Your receiver set to pass sound trough to the TV, if you want sound from the home theater setting has to be changed.

Humming sound when watching tv,but not when watching dvd's

It wounds like you are getting interference from you tv to the receiver. You can try a few different things here.

1. Connect the tv output into another input on you receiver to see if it isnt the channel on the receiver.

2. Try a different set of cables between the tv and receiver. Faulty cables can give you problems.

3. Connect the cable from you tv to a different device. (another dvd vcr blue ray etc.) This will tell you if its the receivers or the tv.
