Question about Microspeed KidTRAC Trackball

Open Question

I appear to have an older version of this made by universal desktop systems. The model no is PD-380. It has a five pin connector with a large black horizontal pin . Is there any way this can be used or converted? Thanks, Frances Maclagan

Acer aspire m3201 pc power supply unit, output looms connectors have identification markings on them PI/PA/PB/PC/PD/PE/PF/PG .I want to know which componets the Molex type connectors fit. the PC has On

The Molex connectors in a desktop PC are keyed to ensure proper placement. The 4-pin flat connectors that are flat on the bottom and have beveled edged on top are connected to hard drives, CD, and DVD-ROM drives that have matching power sockets. Those devices that have Molex sockets usually have the 40-pin ribbon cables for IDE devices. There will be a four-pin square connector that connects to the socket on the motherboard for the CPU power. Then there is the 20 or 24-pin connector that is the motherboard main power.

Where does the black wire on the valet switch for a older model viper 300 12p pin ongl with gray valet wire

Hello Jesse,
I am not sure what kind of a valet switch that you currently have for replacement, however all viper systems use a two wire connector, with one gray wire and one black wire and a blue connector on the end. All this does when you hit the switch is series, or connect the two wires. The brain reads the number of pulses that is receiving the specified timeframe and then completes the command based on the set number of pulses. This connector is a separate 2 pin connector from the 12 pin main harness. This will be located when looking at the 12 pin harness on the right side of the brain.

I tried to remove the password that appears when I boot up my computer. I went into the bios to do this and when I restarted the computer it still asked for a password but my previous one no longer worked....

If you forgot the system password it is hard to retrieve it. The best thing you can do is to clear the cmos and reset it to factory default.
There is a clear cmos jumper pins on your motherboard (usually located beside the battery). In older versions of motherboards, these are 3 pins but in newer versions there are only 2 pins. In the older versions of motherboards, the 2 pins have a jumper cap during normal operation, pins 1 and 2 are shorted (number 2 pin being in the center). In order for you to clear the cmos, all you have to do is short pin 2 and 3 for a few seconds using the same jumper cap or by using a screwdriver. After shorting the 2 pins, return the jumper cap to its original position.
In new motherboards, all you have to do is short the 2 pins for a few seconds. In normal operation, these 2 pins are open.
Please turn off your computer and unplug the power cord before clearing the cmos values.

Where are the switches on an older motherboard to alter the configuration of the motherboard

Hi,

This will be found right near the CMOS battery

Locate the 3-pin CMOS jumper (RTCRST) on the system board.
Remove the jumper plug from pins 2 and 3.
Place the jumper plug on pins 1 and 2 and wait approximately five seconds.
Replace the jumper plug on pins 2 and 3.

TK 380 diplays "FPU OLD!"

This means that you need an older version of software. to program the radio. When it comes to Kenwood the newer version software will not program the older FPU Version radios.

Logitech QuickCam Communicate MP - black screen

  1. Either one of these image sizes:
    • Small image size: 160 x 120
    • Large image size: 320 x 240
  2. RGB, I420, or IYUV formats. (Each is fine; we recommend RGB 24.)
  3. Microsoft DirectX version 9.0
To get this information, click here to download a Microsoft application that checks to see if your webcam device meets these requirements.
To make it easy, when you’re asked where to Save the program, just save it on your Desktop.
Once it’s downloaded, here’s what to do:
  1. Double-click the amcap.exe file on your desktop.
    • If you have more than one webcam installed, click the Devices menu and select the one you want to use.
  2. Click the Options menu, then click “Video capture Pin.”
  3. Under “Color Space/Compression:”, choose one of the following formats:
    • RGB 24 (our recommendation)
    • I420
    • IYUV
Note: If one of the options above isn’t in the list, then your webcam is not compatible with Yahoo!7 Messenger.
  4. Under “Output Size”, choose one of the following:
    • 160 x 120
    • 320 x 240
Note: If one of the options above isn’t in the list, then your webcam is not compatible with Yahoo!7 Messenger.
  5. Click OK
  6. Close the ampcap application.
  7. From your desktop, click ‘Start’ and select ‘Run’.
  8. In the run box, type: dxdiag
  9. In the confirmation dialog box, click OK.
  10. On the System Tab under ‘System Information’, look for DirectXversion. Verify that your version is DirectX 9.0. If it is, just click Exit. If your version is older than 9.0 (any lower number), click here to download the latest version of DirectX.
  11. Start the webcam from Messenger by clicking My Webcam in the Messenger menu.
Attention Logitech webcam users:
Some Logitech webcam drivers may cause one of the following problems:
  • Windows freezes when accessing the webcam
  • A black screen appears when using the webcam in Messenger
  • A ‘Webcam not found’ error message appears.
  • After 3 seconds, the sound drops out of calls made via Messenger
If you already verified that your device is compatible through the above steps and you’re a Logitech webcam user, please click here to update your Logitech webcam driver.

The motherboard will only draw the wattage/current it needs.
Be carefull with Branded machines often their components are proprietary.
Remove the 20 or 24 pin connector to the motherbaord and compare the colour coding of the pin outs with the examples shown on this site.
