Sounds like a failed power supply / power board inside the TV. Unfortunately this is a very difficult repair, and unless you are an electrician I would not recommend attempting it. You will need to contact a local TV repair person in your area. If you think it may still be under warranty please contact the manufacturer to file an RMA. If you happened to purchase the TV with a major credit card (not a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the TV.

So sorry that I don't have better news but it is definitely a power issue internally.

Thanks
Tim

Se47fy19. Has sound, but why no picture?

as there are 2 completely different circuits for sound and picture in a tv set it is possible that the picture board has been damaged by the power surge . it could be as simple as a blown fuse for that board or you may have to take it to a repair shop for a proper diagnosis and a quote

Before replacing a blown fuse, always check for short circuit in an analogue multimeter. Otherwise, you are likely to cause more damage to the board.

Installed new lamp on my hitachi60v715 no picture or sound

Possible power supply or Lamp Ballast that has instantly blown a fuse.

If no power or lights etc someone has to open and test voltages etc.

If beyond you---have set taken to a shop---a house call is usually a waste of time and money in this situation.

Pop sound then no picture, just sound

I assume this is a plasma TV? You will have a fuse blown on either the Y or Z sutain board, there is also a possibility one of the driver IC's has blown on the buffer board, this will shut down the screen & leave the audio working normally. You can check these boards which sit on the left & right hand sides of the screen.

Loud pop

If there was a loud pop then it would appaer a fuse has probably blown either on power supply especially if there is no indicator light showing. If you are getting the red stand by light then possibly a different fuse on the sustain board has blown. You would need to remove the rear cover & check any of the fuses. Most likely if they have blown something more serious has occured to cause & replacing the fuse will result in it blowing straight away.

There could be two possible failures:
1. The backlights are defective (not a common failure for a 14 months old LCD) or the backlights driver/inverter is defective.
2. Power supply failure(very common failure on LCDs) will cause the symptoms you described.

I have sound but no picture

Sounds like a problem with the vertical output IC causing the tubes to be blanking as a protective measure, that could have been responsible for the fuse being blown as well if the The other possibilities are shorted capacitor or diode in the vertical deflection circuit.

Open the back cover and check the fuses on Y Sus Board and X Sus Board. If you can find a blown fuse, just replace that board and your problem will be fixed.
