Question about Sigma Sport BC1606L Dts Wireless Bike Computer with Cadence

1 Answer

I have had teh MPH on my Sigma 1606L DTS with cadence drop out ocassionally but I would still get cadence. Yesterday, I lost anything to do with speed and it did not come back. I'll check the battery, but don't think that's the problem. Any thoughts?

MAKE SURE THE MAGNET PASSES THE SENSOR AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN GET. SAY 3 TO 4 MM.

Sigma BC 1609 Cadence Bicycle Speedometer reads my movement much slower than I am actually going. E.g. moving about 15, reads as 5 mph.

I had the same problem. It is caused because the mount is facing the wrong direction and your computer is swapping speed and cadence. 5 mph would mean 63 RPM of the wheel which probably what your pedal is actually doing. The wheel is actually turning at about 3 times that rate so if you check your cadence it is probably maxing out at 180 even though that wouldn't be possible.

To fix this, just twist your mount 180 degrees on your handlebars or stem and try again. That way the computer is correctly lined up with the mount.

My cadence is no longer working, but everything Else is picking up.

A couple of things you can check: * Is the little magnet still attached to the pedal crank (probably on the left side)? * Is the magnet 'reader' still attached to the frame (again, probably on the left)? * Does the magnet 'reader' need batteries? Do they need changing? * Does the reader still line up with the magnet? Close enough to 'read'? Rgds, Scott

Sigma wireless bicycle computer. Model BC 1606L. Wireless cadence monitor has abruptly stopped working. All other functions of this unit working perfectly. Transmitting unit and receiver have new...

Did you throw the magnet on the crankarm? If not check the alignment of the transmitter and the magnet - sometimes they need to be quite close. Sometimes they just fail. I have seen instances where cadence worked and speed didn't and vice versa - so the unit is transmitting perfectly, but one of the sensors has gone bad.

What must be setting on wheel size if my bike

get a tape measure and measure the out side circunfrance of the wheel. This is you number. OR put a white dob of paint on the tyre and roll it in a strainght line until the dob of paint makes a 2nd mark, (on a path way etc) measure the distance. this will be the same as the first option. Generally its required in mm.

What are the advantages & disadvantages of reverse gear in a two wheeler? Why usually two wheelers don't have reverse gear?

Advantage with heavy bikes is that you can reverse them without having to have a lot of power.(Honda Goldwing etc,)
Lighter bikes don't need them as you can push them backwards fairly easy.
There is no disadvantage other then producton costs.
Ofcourse it will take a bit of getting use to reversing on a two wheeler.

Change from mh to mph

Push bottom button until you see TRIP in bottom left corner of screen. Then go to the back, and push the small button and hold for about 3 seconds. The WS in the top will be blinking, and the number will be blinking. Push the bottom button to scroll through until KMH is blinking. Then push the top button, to toggle to MPH. Now... you will have to rest your wheel size on this screen (the numbers) go to Sigma sports website and get the manual, then look at your wheel size on the side of the tire, put in the correct number for your wheel size. Once all this is done, then turn over and push the small button for about a second for your changes to take effect. the screen will not be blinking now.
