Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Hi fredy2. I found you on the http://www.fixya.com/support/t5562518-roland_xp_50, and maybe you could help me. I have a roland xp80 with a burned transformer - very weird: two screws that supported it simply fell, and the terminals in contact with metal box put it in short circuit. In the transformer is printed "Brando - 22455703uo - BD14F3-0016 - BE11-SE7". I would ask to make another transformer, but I have no specifications - it has more than one voltage output. Well, if you have the schematic or the service manual, it would help me a lot. Thanks in advance!! Rob

When and if it's running, run 'dxdiag' to see if windows reports any sound and video conflicts. It could be the graphic card; as i think(correct me if i'm wrong) that this model has seperate dedicated graphics, other than being on board. I'm assuming all drivers are ok and none of the vga or dvi ports give you any video either. Although the graphics are independent, it's not like a desktop pc graphics agp card, they are; as far as i know integrated in the motherboard, so the board may be the but of your problem, in which case is a replacement worth it or is it within the warranty period.

At a glance, the installation instructions seem to assume you will be mounting it to wall studs.

If you don't have the installation instructions, you can download them here.

If they do not address this issue, I would suspect you may need to have a mount built.

If this is the case, I would contact the folks at places like Lowe's or Builder's Square.

We're happy to help and we appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

The top doesn't come off on the 5520 chassis. The bottom case completely comes off. However on the upper casing where the utility buttons are and the power button, can come off and the keyboard slides up to be pulled out.

I need a hookup layout for audiofire4 connecting to a Roland XP 80 and to a computer

if your computer has a Firewire (IEEE 1394) port, you can use a Firewire cable to connect one of the AudioFire4's Firewire ports to the computer's Firewire port, then hook up your XP80 to the MIDI ports on the AudioFire4. Connect MIDI Out to MIDI In.

I have a roland xp-50 with no power at all. What should I try?

ftp://ftp.roland.co.uk/productsupport/

I would start by checking AC cord is good, look for a blown fuse (BE CAREFUL !!!!) or maybe a defective OFF/ON switch. This keyboard is from the mid 1990's so PLEASE consider this before having it expertly repaired. $$$$$$$

I have sp 606. i connect to sp606 via usb cable to pc in window xp.but icannot connect in window 7,how i can conecct in window 7

Hi.
As the sp 606 is an older machine, it was designed for xp compatibility.

You can try to run it in compatibility mode, but there are no guarantees that this will work.

There may be a windows 7 driver on the internet for this device, but I have searched and have been unable to find one as of yet.
I did however find a vista driver on the Roland website, it might work for you, as alot of devices that get connected to win7 machines use vista drivers to make them work.
here is a link to the download page for it, maybe it will work for you.

I hope that this helps you out, and have a good day.

My roland xp-50 keyboard is dead.

Ok guys. Just got mine XP50 fixed with the "No Display" problem. The LCD screen was blank without text and only shown orange color. The problem is one of the capacitors on the main board was dead. I have replaced all 3 caps on the main board and the problem is solved and if you are a little handy on soldering, you can do it yourself. The 3 caps you should replace are:

- C901 (I used 16V 330MicroF)
- C65 (I used 5V 4.7 MicroF)
- C 902 (I used 16V 330 MicroF)

MV8-VGA BOARD

I TRIED TO FIND THIS BOARD UNSUCCESSFULLY FROM REGULAR AND ONLINE MUSIC STORES. THROUGH ROLAND SALES REPS, I LEARNED THAT THE PART WAS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER AND SCHEDULED TO BE DISCONTINUED. THIS WAS ALMOST TWO YEARS AGO IN 2007. I HAD LUCK TRYING REPAIR SHOPS THAT SERVICED ROLAND EQUIPMENT AND OWNERS WHO HAD THE CARD INSTALLED ALREADY. TRY CRAIGS LIST, AND MV NATION
