SOURCE: washer

If I'm not mistaken, these dishwashers are built by Asko for Viking. If thats the case then you probably have a bad circulation pump. Under Asko's warranty (not sure if Viking is the same) these pumps are covered parts and labor for 3 years from installation date, and 5 years for the part only. The pump is accesed from the back of the machine,so you have to pull out the dishwasher. Then you remove the lower plate in the rear and the motor at the very back center is the pump. You remove it by turning it about a 1/4 turn either clockwise or counter clockwise, depending on the style, then place the new one in and turn it to lock it in place, being careful that the sealing oring stays in place or youll get a leak. The part will probably cost you around $150 unless viking marks theirs up more than Asko. Good Luck!

SOURCE: Dishwasher tablets not dissolving

It may just be the way you are loading the machine.  If the dishes are not allowing the the detergent door to open fully, the tablet sits in the dispenser until you open the dishwasher, letting the dispenser door open and the half dissolved tablet falls out!     Try being more careful how you load the machine or just chuck the tablet in the bottom of the machine instead of the dispenser!

SOURCE: tablet is not dissolving from my dishwasher drawer

If it drops to the bottom when you open the dishwasher door - your soap dispenser is blocked by the rack or an utencil protruding from the rack. Make sure both racks slide in all the way to the back. (hint: check the middle spray arm inlet, make sure it aligns with the tube on back.
Good luck)

Why does our dishwasher drain when large items are put through?

if your question is why does the washer drain first when pots and pans mode is selected? the answer is mfg. have realized that most everyone prerinses there pots and pans first , this makes a lot of water drips in bottom of washer this affects the volume of new water it can allow to enter , so they have made it pump out first for a \few minutes when first turned on in that mode ,it should fill after that and wash normally , also this is why its important to use soap dispensers and not just toss the soap in as it may get rinsed away in first few minutes and not get to wash cycle

Water is getting in to the dishwasher and its running the programme to the end.making usual noises but when open at the end the tablet is on the floor of the washer and pots not clean. Any ideas?

this usually indicates a faulty heating element or control board. Open it up half way through a cycle. if its cold then you know at least where to start.

My new dishwasher leaves a white residue on my pots. pans and stainless flatware. I have not changed soap. Could the water not be hot enough?

Check the incoming water quality. If water is hard and having calcium content this could happen. Use water softeners in the inlet water to the machine.

If dish washer salt compartment available fill with the special salt meant for dish washers.

Check rinse aid compartment and fill rinse aid. Or use two in one soap tablet.

Milky residue and a dry salt pot after each wash

It sounds as if there is a blockage in the salt matrix / inlet. This can happen if the wrong type of salt is used.
The simple answer is to use the expensive tablets/pods - that include salt. This will improve the wash and hopefully the blockage will free eventually.
Fill the salt container with water regularly to try and help dissolve it - no salt untill it's clear.

If it doesn't clear within a month - it may need stripping and clearing manually - or continue with the premium tablets untill something else breaks - requiring a service.

I stupidly put washing up liquid in my very old Bosch SPS 21/24 as i had run out of dishwasher tablets - a few bubbles leaked out but all seemd fine and now it makes all the right noises but nothing...

Take a shop vac and remove all the water and suds.
No shop vac...use a towel or sponge.
Then use a pot to manually fill the dishwasher with cold water. Set it to wash a few seconds then go to pump out setting.
Re-fill with cold water and repeat this process until the normal sounds return and the washer is clear of suds.
HOT water will not work. It only makes the suds worse.
COLD water only.
Repeat repeat repeat ubtil clear.

Matsui dishwasher wont fill up with water

check your inlet filter at the tap source and behind the machine where the filler pipe enters. They changed some pipes in our street and fine sand filled our micro filters to the dishwasher.

My tablet won't dissolve.

Sounds to me like the dishwasher isn't filling up with cold water. I had a similar problem a few months ago, caused by limescale blocking the inlet and drain valves. Might be worth trying some kettle limescale cleaner solution and putting it inside the machine - and leaving it overnight then trying the machine out with no dishes etc in it.
